panasonic p50gt25 turns on for short period.

Hello there, my TV has recently started acting up but it doesn't seem to be dead.

Basically it runs for about 30 or 40 minutes after being turned on, but then shuts off with the 7 blinking lights code.

I tested the SD and SU boards with a multi meter and could not detect any shorts on any of the pins.

I was considering getting a new TV but I actually don't want to let this baby go, I still honestly love the picture on it. If it didn't turn on at all, I would consider it more "dead" but the fact that it will continue to turn on (even now) and then turns off after a certain amount of time, really convinces me that it is fixable.

I am thinking maybe its something to do with power ? once a component reaches a certain temperature it shuts down maybe ?

I am pretty smart with electronics, but very in-experienced when it comes to circuit boards, voltages, capaciters etc etc.

Would love any help or advice on the next best course of action in fixing this TV. Anyone have any ideas? Or seen similar behaviour before and have an idea what could be wrong ? Something else on the TV I should be testing with the multi meter ? I don't want to switch out any boards until I know what board is causing problems.

Any help is appreciated, I feel determined to get this TV back up and running.

    Thanks !

check / tighten all the screws on the boards (SU especially). They are used for grounding and are known to work loose and "corrode" from heating. IF they are left in this condition, it will eventually take out drive components on the SU board at the very least. Lots of plasma panasonic posts warning of this problem... which is usually caught to late and require board rebuild / replacement.

Hmm yeah I did read about this and I did go over every screw, tightening every single one I could. None of them seemed to be loose but I made sure to tighten them in nice and hard anyways.

Maybe the damage has already been done ? Any other advice ?

beside tighten though, you need to check under them to board to ensure there is no oxidization / corrosion from heating which causes a higher / loss of ground.

Dell E5470 LA-C631p - Short removed now turns on but no post/display
          by retrorepair2
Got a really frustrating issue here, got a Dell laptop as above which initially had a short on the +POWER_SRC rail, discovered a short cap in a bank of 3 near PU801. Removed and verified the short was gone, it was and the laptop powered on, tried to load windows but just kept rebooting. Sometimes didn't post. Battery was charging.

Stripped it back down and replaced the cap (assumed looking at the LA-632p schematic it's a 10U cap, no boardview so who really knows). Now the board doesn't charge the battery and while it powers on with a brief spin of the fans, there's no display on the...

Acer Nitro 5 LA-L181p power LED turns on by 5 secs (Short on PCH rail?)
          by Victor Moreira Silva
          Hello everyone,

I'm trying to repair my old Acer Nitro 5 (AN517-54-55T5). I've already bought a new laptop, so this is more of a learning project. For the experience, with no high expectations of success.

Well, my decice specs are the following:

          Model: Acer Nitro 5 AN517-54-55T5
          CPU: Intel Core i5-11400H
          GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650
          Motherboard: GH51G LA-L181P Rev:1c

          The symptom:
When pressing the power button, the power LED lights up for about 5 seconds and then turns off. Initially, the issue was intermittent: sometimes...

Looking for help diagnosing a 65" Panasonic Viera TV - TH-65DX700Z (Turns on - Clicks - Turns off)
          by mostachio
          Hi Badcaps,

I've had a friend discard a TH-65DX700Z Pansonic Viera Television and I've decided to have a go at repairing it. If possible could I please get some advice in terms of diagnosing the problem so I can purchase the appropriate parts for repair whether it be components, a repair kit or a replacement board. I am happy to post pictures if required.

          TV Details:

          Model # - TH-65DX700Z

          Symptoms:

The television turns on and displays a picture then makes a clicking sound and turns off.

I haven't opened it up yet but...

Extreme High Current & Low Voltage Short Killer ??
          by DynaxSC
          Hi Folks

I'm looking for a extreme high current short killer solution for a reasonable cost.

I have an LGA1700 motherboard (ASUS PRIME Z790-P WiFi) where I exchanged the LGA socket already 3 times, and every time after the socket exchange I get a short of power supply lines VCORE (V variable) and VCCIN_AUX (1.8V).
After taking off the socket, the shorts dissappear again.
The soldermask on the socket is already partially demaged from the heat, so I have reconstructed the soldermask by manually painting the missing soldermask parts with a very small top of a...

Panasonic TC-60CX800U turns off after 2 seconds.
          by PanasTC
          Panasonic TC-60CX800U with Power board: TNPA6060 1P
The TV starts, the LED lights blink for 2 seconds, and the TV turns off; I tested the voltages on the powerboard, and it looks ok.
Also, I could see HDM in the top corner for a second.

Is it possible that the issue is a bad LED light that forces the TV to turn off?
