If this is the eeprom you put in, check the please note info. in red, you need to match up the numbers, you might have a mismatch. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Haier-LE39F...kAAOSwcUBYJWIb

Maybe contact shopjimmy and ask if those two will interchange and if you need to do anything to make it work.

Yeah, still stuck in aging mode after 10+ hours so I am guessing i'll need a code. I'll try the other approaches mentioned by nomoresonys and others. Also, you are correct, that is the same eprom i ordered from eBay/shopjimmy. But the sticker code on my board is 2e5e016d550xf31 so not a match with their original code (2DCB004D39). I will reach out to them and see if these two are compatible. vinceroger69 - any suggestions for how I could read the old eprom after freezing? I am pretty resourceful in that regard just need some hints! It was definitely the same chip "type" as the old one but maybe much different code!!!

Make it simple, plug the Ac cord when you make a short circ. between pins 5,6 of the eeprom, wait 5 seconds then release, unplug ac, replug then switch tv on...
let we see if you are smartjohn or somethingelsejohn...

try what david suggests in post 25 first as that should reset the eeprom the linked video explains freezing and reading eeproms sometimes it works sometimes it does not

well from start its wrong to fit eeprom from other size, because it may panel driver are different. and LVDS Freq and depth different, i use 2 dollars cost eeprom programmer CH314A to read and write with no problem sofar with out need to freezing too

Shopjimmy does not offer eproms for my panel so no luck there!! I was lucky in that i salvaged the old eprom from the trash (to davi.p's point I may need another name!) I had accidentally threw it away while cleaning the bench off. Luckily I was able to sift thew my 30 gallon trash can and find the 8pin black spec still intact!! So CH314A chip reader is on order (with clip) plus 5 new 25q64bsig eproms. I will try the pin 5/6 reset in the meantime.

Suggestion was to ask shopjimmy if the two would interchange without reprogramming, doesn't look like they will tho.

No no wait a moment! 25q64bsig is not an eeprom.. it's a serial flash, i don't know if it's the correct chip, in some China brands designs them are used also to store settings, since the change of it became in bad settings (andy warhol.... ), you could try to read the old one when you are freezing it, but first save the content of the purchased flash just to be sure... the method of the short to the 5,6 pins doesn't work on theese flash, and you do not have to delete them! Because them contains also a piece of software for the tv start.

25q64bsig is okay with Chinese brands.. its the boot and service menu setting with driver saved on it. he will be fine with it.
here for all the version of CH314A software interface include driver 32 & 64bit

Ok, so CH314a programmer arrived. Using this thing is a bit of a black art!! Many versions of the code for this bugger do not work!! So with Diah's version (above) I was able to read my salvaged 25Q64BSIG flash and save to a file (I did not freeze the chip prior to the read). The chip that is currently on the mainboard (from shopjimmy) is the version for the Haier LE39F3200. After many attempts (chip clip does not always connect) I was also able to read this code and also save it to a file. Rather than desolder the shopjimmy chip I decided to erase and reflash with the code I copied from the or9ginal. One additional note: the shopjimmy chip is 25L6445E (still 8mb/64bit) but from a different manufacturer. So I erased this one, did a blank check and then wrote the original code (from salvaged chip) and did a compare. All was successful, no errors on any steps. Final result: Set is doing the same as it did before I installed the shopjimmy chip, It's stuck in standby!! Just thinking, maybe I should freeze the original chip and attempt another read? I did a compare between Original vs Shopjimmy and there and many same and many different sections of the code. Shopjimmy appears to start at a much higher address in the ROM. Ideas suggestions? Thanks! (also I do have new blank 25QFVSIG chips in hand (winbond)).

Flash one of those new chips and see what happens.

Yes, That will be my next try. I did try the freeze and re-read of the original chip and both versions were identical. Interesting note: the code in the shopjimmy chip does not start until #00002000 but when it starts it is virtually identical to my original chip code all the way to #001FFF0 !! from there only minor differences exists up to #00023880 when everything is different until #00423860 where it all syncs back the same...with a few minor diffs. Shopjimmy stops at #005E1F10 and original stops at #005E7AD0, From here both are FF all the way to #007FFFF0. The original rom code has about 200 bytes of code starting at #00000100. could this be corruption ???? I will try flashing a new chip....

Good question, suppose it could be they are too different to work. Wonder if anyone has the proper code for this one handy.

the correct steps as following to make successful programming
1- after you connect the SPI Flash click on detect. if it read it then your connection of the pins correct.
                                    2- Erase
                                    3- Blank
4- Open the flash bin file
5- just click on Auto. it will do all need

i suggest you to Erase the Original one and write its firmware again.

i did read again what you wrote after your programmer arrived.
if i really undertood from your doing state .
A- shopjemmy Flash .bin the TV start.
B- when you wrote your Original bin on shopjimmy SPI it keep in standby as you have before.
C- you compare and found the bin file of shopjimmy start in hex early than yours original.

                                      solution:
compare both bin with hex editor .. and edit the original one the first startup as shopjimmy one. so you will have new flash bin which start and it had your original driver..

Actually, the working chip (shopjimmy Andy Warhol mode) starts at much higher address than the original (bad standby lock) chip. I will repeat original process using your steps Diah....
