    Samsung UN55ES6100 Alternative LED Strips

I've been making an effort lately to clean up some old projects and this is the last of the tv's. I did not take pics so this is post is just informative in case someone else runs across this set.

This panel is edge lit and for whatever reason when the strip fails it mostly does a bang up job taking out entire banks of LEDs. I've tried replacing these individually but fail miserably so went in search of replacement strips and found them to be overly pricey.

The strips themselves have two parallel banks of 38 LEDs for 76 total per strip. The connector is six-pin of which only three pins are used. I made an educated guess on purchasing a set of used strips from a UN55ES6500 for $40. They had the same number of LEDs and appeared to be in the same form factor but had a 10 pin connector. After receiving them I found these were driven in four banks of 19 LEDs.

If you solder small jumpers on the connector you can make them run in the desired configuration of two banks of 38. As for plugging in a six conductor harness into a 10 pin socket it's simple if you don't mind getting a little destructive. I used side cutters to cut the harness connector in half where the unused pins are. The two halves will now snap into the 10 pin connector at either end making contact in the proper place on the strip. Done.

If you've made it this far... In the time since I acquired this set I've lost/tossed a few pieces. If anyone out there has the tcon cover for this and has no use please PM. It provides thermal support for the tcon but also structural support for the stand. Thanks.

About replacing individual LEDS on BL strips
    by edugimeno
    Hi There!
Having fixed 5-6 TV sets by replacing full LED strips, and having watched other people fix that by replacing just one LED in the strip, my question now is what should I consider before doing so.

At this time I have some old strips removed from TV's with all but one LED working. Are there different voltage/current LED on different strips? Are 99% of them just the same and interchangeable?

How do you find which specific model is needed for each strip? When I check if a LED is OK by attaching the multimeter leads to the individual led pads on the strips I...

LED problem on samsung UE55F6475, 2 strips work. The rest is flashing every second.
    by Kingfreddie
    Ok.. this is the story:
Have an old Samsung LED 3D TV (UE55F6475). First it started to lose light on the lower 40% of the screen now and then. Like for 10-60 mins and then it would work again. Then a bit later it just got stuck in that position. The lower 40% of the screen is dark, and it gets progressively darker the lower u go so it's obviously that LED strips where not working. I also looked for similar errors online and saw an exact copy and on that one it was faulty LED strips.

This is kinda how it looked, just that mine were at the bottom of the screen:

Corsair K70 LUX RGB dying LEDs
    by Pipolups
    Hi there !

I'm having an issue for several weeks with my quite old K70 LUX RGB keyboard. I haven't used it for few months, and once I setup up again my desktop computer, I got several dead LEDs on that keyboard. I tried the Corsair troubleshooting thing (disabling options in iCUE, ...) but nothing changed so I conclude that for some reason some LEDs went in retirement...😅
Decision taken to change these LEDs as I have access to desoldering iron and binocular magnifier, I wrote a ticket to tech support, hopping to obtain the LEDs reference and... They refused to tell me 🙄...

RCA RLDED 4331B: 43 inch LED TV: Backlight issue
    by lmcancu
Hi I am having an issue with the LED backlight of this TV. I can see the picture with a flash light, so I determined it was a backlight issue.

Initially, after opening it I found 2 shorted and 1 open LED on 2 strips (total of 4). I removed the LEDs and shorted the pads together to verify if the backlight would work.

Testing it, I found the backlight turned on and I measured 54V when TV was in standby (off), and 100v when TV was turned on. The 4 strips each contain 9 LEDs, so 36 in all minus 3.

Instead of putting it back together I decided to replace...

    Samsung un65h6203af led replacement question
    by tmhobadcap
This tv is with sound but no picture. When light shines on the screen, we can see the image. This is a typical backlight problem. I opened it and found quite a lot of the leds are damaged. But the damaged ones are all shorted. No one is open. Is there a special reason? (From my past experience, both can be happened)

When I supply 3V to each of the good leds, the currents range from 105mA to 154mA. From these figures, I think the leds are 3V and about 0.5W. I plan to replace all the damaged leds only (because the price of the led strips is very expensive), but I could not find 3V 0.5W...
