Samsung UE32H5500 sound, no picture, menus only

Good day folks. I've ran into a strange issue with this telly here: it turn on fine and displays perfectly, but after a while the broadcast image would just disappear (and sometimes cut back in), but it's not your "classic" case of bad LEDs: see, the audio continues to play and the OSD is also functional, this is what sets it apart from other cases of "no picture". If I change the channel, the picture comes back on and remains functional for a random amount of time before dying again.

Reset the TV, performed a software update but the same thing happens (actually my colleague did this). Bad tuner perhaps ? It most likely requires a board swap, but it's a strange defect I haven't encountered before and I was hoping someone had the same issue at some point and had some clever fix. Haven't tested HDMI, though I believe it's fine. Any ideas ? Cheers

Oh yeah and some random reboots...the board it uses has NAND issues AFAIK, since I've ran into it before with bootloop issues...

So when pictures disappear, the backoights are still on then?

Yes, menus are perfectly functional....hell, sometimes a speaker icon appears on screen as if it were a "radio" channel (sound only). If I change the channel up/down, the picture comes back in, almost as if its losing the "stream" or whatever you call it.....speaking of which, haven't tried switching between DVB and analog just for the sake of a complete diagnosis.
