    Sony KLV-32S200A 3 red blinks.

    Good day folks. Time for me to tackle another Sony, TV which I absolutely hate to do because they're so needlessly complicated that....UGH....>_>

    Anyway, this big bastard doesn't turn on: you plug it in, I can hear the relay click, it stays like that for a couple of seconds then the relay turns off and the red LED blinks 3 times....the service manual here says the 3 blink code means "abnormal panel voltage", but offers no clues as to how to troubleshoot that.

    What I noticed on my own: if I jump the 3.3v stand-by pin to the "power on" pin, all the voltages come on at the output, so the PSU appears to be working. I can't quite understand the purpose of the relay though (page 35): I though it actually switches the mains on/off and I tried jumping that to 3.3v first, which indeed makes it click, but I still got no voltages at the output. Then I tried jumping just the "power on" pin and NOW I got the correct outputs, so why's that relay even there ?! Inrush limiter AFAI can tell: the main rectifier is in series with that 6.8 resistor (R6102) and when the relay is open it absorbs the initial rush current. When it closes, it bypasses that resistor and it sends full mains into the rectifier D6010 directly below it. I also see some sense lines across that resistor going to an optocoupler on the right...some current sensing perhaps ?

    Now as I was messing around, plugging it in and unplugging it, it actually did fire up once, which would point towards a bad logic board or corrupted EEPROM, since the HDMI input doesn't work and it wouldn't turn on a second time after that, though it behaved differently this time: after turning it off with the button at the top, pressing it one more time to turn it back ok made the LED turn green, the relay closed again, but then it opened again WHILE the LED remained still green. It did this several times before finally going back to the 3 red blinks situation, so it's one sick TV the poor thing...where would we go from here ? Any ideas ?

    Sony XR-55A80J OLED TV 5 blinks - Troubleshooting steps
    by jason123
    Hi there,
    I see a couple of posts related to the troubleshooting of similar TV. The one I have is acting slightly differently and I'd love your help.

    So it has the 5 blinks. Previous owner got a TCON, no luck. Got a new Main board (though he didn't do the USB firmware update), again, no improvements.

    I see 2 posts that are relevant:

    Sony XR-55X90J 5 blinks
    by matwan
    Hello,

    I have problem with SONY 55X90J. After several check status is as below;
    1. Running power board as stand alone:

    TCON_12V =~ 12.6V
    EVDD V On Max 24V= 19V.

    2.
    Running power board with TCON as stand alone:

    Effect as below, attched.

    3. When bottom LVDS cable is disconnected no blinks, but of course no TCON 12V and EVDD.
    "I'm almost sure it's a defective panel, but maybe someone has encountered a similar issue on their screen.

    Best regards....

    Sony XBR-75X940E intermittent 6 blinks error code
    by GoodCapDude
    Hi everyone. First post on Badcaps!

    I am trying to fix a Sony 940E from 2017 that either starts normally (and works perfectly until turned off) or goes straight to the 6 blinks error code without showing anything on the screen. It is frustrating to know that it can still work perfectly but is barely usable because of the difficulty starting it up. I am willing to try to short the BL_ERR but I would like to avoid that if possible. Does anyone have a view on this? Thanks a lot....

    Replacing resistor fuse in Sony DV charger
    by corrize
    Hello, I have 2 old chargers for Sony DV, and I found the same resistor fuse dead. Fuse is a crossing component : 0,47 Ohms (0,125W deduced because the lenght is 3mm). But I can’t find the same for buy.
    So, I want to replace by another like 0 Ohms, 1 Ohms 0,125W,

    It is the same please ? I guess it’s the same, the only change should be the time to burn ? Thanks...

    Sony Bravia KD-50X690E blown resistor
    by x_orange90_x
    I just picked up this tv yesterday and the previous owner said while watching tv he heard a loud a pop and then the screen went dark. I removed the back cover and found the source rather quickly; resistor R8601. A chunk of the ceramic had blown off exposing the inner wire. Due to the damage I cannot make out the colors of a couple bands. I likewise cannot find a datasheet for the power supply. I tried pulling up pictures of the same board online but the resistors have different colored bands which I half expected as I've had this happen before.

    The power supply is 715G8413-P01-001-0H2S...
