I picked up a 60" Plasma seller said stopped working after storm.... Nothing visible on any of the boards. Does not power on. I do have 5v standby voltage at thee input to the Main Board. I have read where one of the EPROM's on the main board is a known issue??

Re: Samsung Plasma PN60F5300AFXZA
These units do not have the "EEPROM" issue that affected 2008/2009 Samsung sets.
Since your set has an integrated control board (built onto the main board) there is not a great deal you can do to test this.
If you have established 5V stby but no activity from main board, e.g. not toggling the PS ON line to the power board, you will have to replace the main board first. I am assuming you do not know about diagnosing a main board as it is not a task for a beginner.Last edited by tom66; 09-02-2018, 02:40 PM.Please do not PM me with questions! Re: Samsung Plasma PN60F5300AFXZA
A few places advertise a replacement IC EEPROM for IC801 as a fix for these boards. Any way to test or jumper the IC801 to check to see if it is the issue? Or is this bad info?Attached Filesif you find these attachements useful please consider making a small donation to the site

Re: Samsung Plasma PN60F5300AFXZA
not an EEPROM. It's SPI NOR Flash.
But no way to "jumper" it. Just need to replace it if it's the issue.
Nothing else you can do to test it without detailed knowledge of how these work unfortunately. Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

Re: Samsung Plasma PN60F5300AFXZA
do you have any voltage on the PS-ON pin on the power supply, monitor the pin then press the power button to see if there is a change.
If you are getting a change on pS-ON, disconnect CN802 and moitor the VS pin, does it have any voltage? It won't sty up due to OVP, to test it you need two 60watt incandescent lamps connected in series across VS & ground to act as a load.
To test part of the power supply (not the VS supply), disconect CN801 from the main board and check the voltage on PS-ON (pin1) if there is 0 volts, connect a 1k resistor between 5v stby and PS-ON, If there IS 5 volts on PS-ON, then ground PS-ON. see if you get D15v or D5.3Last edited by R_J; 09-11-2018, 07:17 PM.Comment

Re: Samsung Plasma PN60F5300AFXZA
I could be, the main is what controls that pin so either something on that control line. You said you replaced th spi flash chip so I don't really know what else it could be.
That other spi ic IC2001 is for a different version of the boardLast edited by R_J; 09-12-2018, 06:31 PM.Comment

Re: Samsung Plasma PN60F5300AFXZA
where did you get your flash ic? maybe you have the one for ic2001 and not ic801, is that possible?
on this board ic2001 is above the crystalAttached Filesif you find these attachements useful please consider making a small donation to the site

by Asraf AtbHi everyone,
Im looking for some advice regarding my Samsung UE55MU8000 TV with main board model BN94-11606C. The TV suddenly stopped turning on and now shows no signs of life at all not even the standby light at the bottom.
Initially, I suspected an issue with the PSU, so I took it to a repair center. They tested it and confirmed that the PSU works perfectly, even on other TVs. Based on that, I started investigating the main board.
I disconnected the main board from the PSU, and the backlight turned on, which seems to confirm the main board is the issue....1 Photo -
by mrautom8Schematics for the main board needed please. Sticker on board states BN94-07517A but the silkscreen says BN41-02157B. Cant find here or anywhere on the web.
Backlights work when main boards disconnected. When connected and power button switched, the relay on the PSU board turns on for one second then back off.
While relay is on, all voltage rails are present and steady (scoped) on main board.
I love a good logic puzzle but getting lost without any schematics.
No shorts on ANY capacitor main board.
Thermal camera shows 3.3V inductor getting warm instantly but...-

by alltvrepairsHi,
I have this almost brand new Plasma was well stored. I would like to repair it for a friend of mine.
I have noticed that it works for few seconds then switches Off the Power_ On signal. Have disconnected boards and left maion board and power supply and still the same. The power supply with PS_ON and VA signals On stays on so it is not a problem in the power supply.
Any one met this problem in the past?...10-08-2025, 07:34 AM -
by Dani_2024Hi and thanks in advance for any input you might provide!
I have a Sceptre U550CV-UMRD8POTV83BB 4K LED (this is a dumb tv) that I bought new in August 2021, so It's just completed 3 years.
Main power board model: TP.MS3683.PC821 T-Con board: N4TP546UHDPU2L_BO
Last Sunday I was watching a dvd and fell asleep for about half hour, when I awoke the tv screen was black and couldn't get the dvd menu to show, so I changed the input to antenna and had sound but no picture, turned it off. I then got online and found this great site! ....read many troubleshooting tips and this...5 Photos -
by ygorsanHi everyone,
Iām looking for help with a persistent issue on an LG TV model 55NANO77SRA, which uses the main board EBU66792103 (also used in LG UQ80 and NANO75/NANO80 series).
š§© Problem Summary:- The TV keeps scrolling through the menu or selecting items by itself.
- I removed the physical button board (the entire panel with power and volume buttons) and also disconnected the flat cable (CN202) from the main board.
- The remote control is not in use (batteries removed), and the TV still shows the same behavior.
