    LG 50PZ550 with EBT61533103 EAX63546403 Main Board

I have an LG 50PZ550 with EBT61533103 EAX63546403 Main Board. The TV would turn on but with absolutely no display, no LG logo nothing. I did the control board screen test and all was working so I determined the main board was causing the problem. I did the oven reflow trick and now alls working great, I know this is just a temporary fix. I have lost HDMI's on other TV's but they would still have the LG startup screen and logo, this on had absolutely no display at all. Anyone know what component on the board may need resoldering ?

this is going to be the main processor on the main board. it is the big bga chip.
hopefully your oven reflow will give it some more life. not normally cost effective to replace it and replacement boards are scarce.
WHY CAN'T PHILIPS USE PHILLIPS HEAD SCREWS?

Thanks for the reply, Is it possible to reflow the chip with a soldering iron without messing it up ?

since it is a bga chip (solder pads and balls under the chip), you can reflow with hot air and lots of flux but recommended that a proper ir rework station be used. this way it is heated to an exact temperature while using a preset heating graph, so not to under/over heat the chip, thereby creating further faults.

your oven reflow is basically a poor mans way of doing a temporary repair. issue with baking is that even if you are great at masking off everything that you possibly can, you are also still heating more sensitive parts of the board, so it can cause other problems potentially.

if it is working now, i would run it as is till the problem arises again. hopefully it will be a fair while into the future.
