Samsung LED Un46eh5000f black screen flicker

Trying to fix this tv for a buddy, when he is watching it the screen randomly goes black for a few seconds, has no picture but can still hear audio output then picture will kick back on

I had ordered a replacement tcon board for it because I thought that might of been the problem but tv is still doing the same thing, am I right in thinking it is probably the main board if it's not the tcon

Are you sure it is not the backlights that flicker?

Not sure at all, when the screen flickers it only goes out for a second or so then comes back on, it's to the point now it probably flickers every minute or so, it's obviously not the tcon cause I already tried replacing it, what's easiest way to decide if it's a problem between backlights or main board, I am pretty sure he said that when it flickers you can see pic with a flashlight but when backlights go the screen stays black doesn't it

Remove the connector between the PSU and the Main Bd. and apply the ac. If the PSU and backlights are OK the backlights should immediately come on and stay on as long as the ac is applied.
