Question about faulty nand flash chip in Samsung TV

Hi, I obtained a big Samsung ps51d6900dk TV today which would switch on, display the Smart TV logo, then start cycling on and off.
I froze IC1302 flash chip to see if this was the fault and the set stayed on. That was several hours ago now and the TV is still functioning correctly. I can turn it off and on again and it stays on every time.

Now, my question is.. have I fixed it or is it inevitable it will do it again sometime soon? Also, while it's working, if I upgrade the firmware will that help prevent the fault returning?

I can see these chips are available on ebay for around £60. While that may or may not be worth it for a 7 year old tv, I'm just not sure my soldering skills are up to such a job. Can anyone give any advice?
    Thanks!

Photos always help to identify what you are talking about.
I've bought Samsung NAND chips off ebay but they were £18 and needed replacing because of bad blocks, freezing wouldn't fix that.

Diff do these replacement chips need re programing or do they come with the firmware on them as nand programers seem too be expensive

I paid about £120 for my NAND programmer and buy blank chips.
The chips I've seen on ebay are advertised as pre programmed.

There's no guarantee freezing fixed it permanently or didn't. The NAND usually fails due to bad blocks.

It's the GQ-5X programmer. It's the only sub £150 NAND programmer I found that did the Samsung NAND in the D series Samsungs.

Hi Diif, if it turned out that I need one, can I buy one from you?
TV is still behaving perfectly so far though.

I found a link for a good NAND dump and I fix the TV already.

                          Hi, everyone!

I've recently acquired two brand new SPI chips to replace the one currently in my Acer A514-54G laptop MB (FH5AT LA-K092P). The reason why I'm replacing the current SPI chip is because I had some difficulties with a third-party IT assistant who pretty much lacked the soldering skills and ended up destroying the current SPI chip soldered to my MB from factory.

I've decided to do this on my own because I spent the past month or so learning some soldering skills and BIOS modding through Badcaps and WinRaid forums, hence the attempt. I've also chosen to buy...

MSI B660M Mortar DDR4 (MS-7D42 Rev 1.1) Request for EC flash chip (W25X20CLNIG)
                          by mizuh0
Hi all I hope im doing this correctly,

I need a firmware dump for the Nuvoton NCT6687D‑M controller (EC flash chip: W25X20CLNIG) used on the MSI B660M Mortar DDR4 (MS‑7D42, revision 1.1).

I acquired a ch341a black to reflash my bios, and was so excited to use it that I tested it on the W25X20CLNIG 3.3v chip as I didn't have the 1.8v yet for the bios chip itself.

Being a total newbie I straight up corrupted the EC flash chip, and now the power button does nothing, PS_ON# does not change, and when I manually short the PS_ON# pin it immediately turns off...
