    lg 50ln5750 backlight question

i recently bought a bunch of broken tv's off someone to repair, in the bunch were 2 of these tvs(50ln5750), one had a cracked screen and the other had backlight issues so i basically made 1 tv from the 2.

tonight some of the backlights went in it for the 3rd time, last 2 times i just swapped out good backlight strips from spare tv that i tested as working once installed, my question as i have never got into backlight issues much before, is this something where all the leds should be all replaced at once or am i just having bad luck and probably have weak leds on the strips i am putting in cause every time i have had to replace them there on a diff strip than the one i have replaced or could there be something else causing them to blow

The default settings for the LN series runs the backlight at 100 level and need to be turned down to 60-70 for ALL inputs. It is also recommended to update the firmware.

Is it possible for a full strip to be non-operational? Would they all go out at once?

Have a ln5700 with a few random bulbs out then one full strip is gone. Could it be getting over-powered or something?

      Cheers!

If an LED fails open circuit, the whole strip will be out and you will need to test each one individually. If an LED fails short circuit, the whole strip will be lit except for the shorted ones.

I have a 50UH5500 on the bench right now where one open LED took out the center two rows, 6 total rows in the TV. This caused a single back light flash on start-up.

              Question about UE60JU6800K backlight power.
              by Gjackson
              Hi all,

got my hands on a Samsung UE60JU6800K, initially it apparently had a bunch of white circles on screen which I confirmed was due to loose diffusers when I opened the set up and found a mountain of them at the bottom. The person I got if from stored the TV unused for a lengthy period after this so when I got it the backlight was completely gone. I took out the strips and almost all of the LED's have a crack on the yellow phosphor form the center of the LED outward, the ones that don't have this crack seem to work still (Maybe due to humidity after a long period?). Anyways I...

Guide me through repairing a Dell p2210f LCD ccfl backlight monitor
              by DanPoka
I bought this p2210f dell monitor to fix. Schematic is the same as p2210.
Behaviour is that monitors comes on but then backlight switches off almost instantly. If I look with flashlight I can still find the "No signal message". So definitely a backlight issue. Trying to advance the issue I proved that the protection circuit is switching off the backlight by shorting out C3 and resistor to disable the INL chip then re enable by removing the short.
This is where it gets interesting. When I disassembled the monitor to solder leads on c3 capacitor I noticed the backlight flickered...

              No Backlight Macbook A1990 820-01041
              by Comp_Pro
              Hello all,

Am trying to figure out this backlight issue with this A1990 Macbook Pro.

              Tests performed:

There is no backlight even with a good screen.
Backlight IC is receiving the correct support voltages.
              Fuse F8400 ok
              Current sense resistor R8400 ok
Backlight IC is receiving 3.3V on enable pin.
Backlight IC receiving voltage from PPBUS_G3H, aprox 12.5V.
Backlight IC receiving 5V from PP5V_G3S
Backlight IC BKLT_SCL and BKLT_SDA both measure 0.545V diode mode to ground
              I2C_BKLT_SCL and I2C_BKLT_SDA both measure...

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?
              by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

              Assuming...

Backlight strip quality, Amazon vs Ebay vs ShopJimmy. Is there really a difference?
              by DXseekerMO
              Hello everyone!

Recently I've noticed that some ShopJimmy backlight strips don't have double-sided tape installed upon them when an application calls for it, and I must purchase the tape separately. In a recent chat conversation with a customer service agent I told them if this tape wasn't applied when it was called for I would begin to consider ordering my backlight strips elsewhere. It looks like this time may have come.

I recently got a TCL 65S4 with bad backlights. After looking at the SJ listing here: https://www.shopjimmy.com/tcl-jl-d65...365as-m-led-ba...
