    Insignia NS-LCD47HD-09

Hello all, first post. Got this older TV for free has power but no backlights or picture. Tested voltages and it seems everything is there but the 3v BL ON. I know the inverters are a common failure with the fuses but they checked good on this one. So my guess would be the main board having a faulty component? Or does the BL ON come directly from the power board with the 24v to inverters?

BLon is generated from the main board's main IC. There are 2 ways of fixing this: either you need a new main board, or you can try to disconnect the BLon wire from the PSU and jump STBY through a 1k resistor to BLon pin on the PSU (or some other 3 to 5 v source).

Try jumping 3v to that pin somehow. A lab bench power supply or wall-wart adapter makes this easy, just make sure you connect the ground to the chassis. If the light doesn't come on, there's a fault with the inverter. If if does come on, the main board is not sending the BL-ON signal, so you either replace the board (which may or may not be worth it), or grab a 3v signal from somewhere else to "jump-start" the inverter every time you power on the TV....or indeed, attempt to troubleshoot the board if you manage to find the schematic to see where that signal is supposed to come from.
EDIT: remove the pin corresponding to BL-ON from the main board end so you only send your 3v into the power supply side and not the main board...depending on the connector, sharp enough tweezers can achieve this, since it usually involves slightly bending a piece of plastic holding the metal pin in the plastic connector shell along with the others.

Ok tried to jump bl on with 3v did nothing. I also see no picture/menu on the screen with flashlight. Just strange to have all the correct voltages besides the bl on. I did notice I have a ribbon cable from the t-con board to the master inverter would that be something to do with the bl on feed thru the t-con? I tried removing the ribbon from inverter then jumping with 3v but still nothing.

So did you remove the BL-ON wire back to the main board FIRST before jumping the BL-ON pin with 3V?

Pretty sure it is the mainboard I tried testing the very thin wires and connectors from the mainboard to t-con and got nothing so the mainboard is not sending anything to the t-con which is probably on the same circuit as the bl on volts.

The key point is that if the BL-ON is present then the backlights should be on.
The T-CON gets switched 12V from the main board, that 12V is from the power supply switched 12V.
We want to know if you have more than just main board or not by testing the power supply board by forcing on the Backlights, but you are not telling us if you did disconnect the BL-ON wire going back to the main board first or not, if you did not you could have damage the BL-ON drive circuit.

Is it possible to upgrade from a Vestel 17MB97 main board to a 17MB110 Main board?
                by cheeky2
I suppose the real question is whether the existing pinouts from ether a 17IPS71 psu are cross compatible with a 17IPS12 psu? If they are then the exchange of the main boards should have no issues providing the screen is compatible with both main boards. Obviously you can change the screen configurations easily enough (providing you have the correct files) for the main board. Why may you ask would I do this? Well a lot of the smart features are no longer working on a Hitachi 48HBT62U main board I wish to give it a new lease of life!
Obviously the same LVDS connector for the screen connection...

I have a Sceptre U550CV-UMRD8POTV83BB 4K LED (this is a dumb tv) that I bought new in August 2021, so It's just completed 3 years.

Last Sunday I was watching a dvd and fell asleep for about half hour, when I awoke the tv screen was black and couldn't get the dvd menu to show, so I changed the input to antenna and had sound but no picture, turned it off. I then got online and found this great site! ....read many troubleshooting tips and this...

LG 55NANO77SRA TV – Menu scrolling by itself even after removing button board (Main Board EBU66792103)
                by ygorsan
                Hi everyone,

I’m looking for help with a persistent issue on an LG TV model 55NANO77SRA, which uses the main board EBU66792103 (also used in LG UQ80 and NANO75/NANO80 series).

                🧩 Problem Summary:
                • The TV keeps scrolling through the menu or selecting items by itself.
                • I removed the physical button board (the entire panel with power and volume buttons) and also disconnected the flat cable (CN202) from the main board.
                • The remote control is not in use (batteries removed), and the TV still shows the same behavior.

Help Needed: Samsung UE55MU8000 Dead - Possible Main Board Issue
                by Asraf Atb
                Hi everyone,

Im looking for some advice regarding my Samsung UE55MU8000 TV with main board model BN94-11606C. The TV suddenly stopped turning on and now shows no signs of life at all not even the standby light at the bottom.

Initially, I suspected an issue with the PSU, so I took it to a repair center. They tested it and confirmed that the PSU works perfectly, even on other TVs. Based on that, I started investigating the main board.

I disconnected the main board from the PSU, and the backlight turned on, which seems to confirm the main board is the issue....

Compatibility of main boards between different variations of samsung MU6100
                by JSin21
                Hoping someone here could possibly help. I have a few questions in regards to compatibility with main boards. But I'll give a quick short run down on what's going on first;

I have Samsung Smart TV UA65MU6100WXXY version DA01

Now years ago it started intermittently playing up after a lighting strike. Lighting hit the block of units i was living in at the time. Ever since that night the TV started having a mind of its own, It would randomly turn itself off or on, and all inputs stopped responding like HDMI, aerial, but USB still worked. Anyway, over the next few months...
