With the television switched off use your multimeter set to diode mode and check any of the diodes mentioned above to see if any of them are short circuit.

You need to unsolder them carefully and check them for short circuit. Do not lose them.

Dear friends,
i do have a VESTEL 17MB82S not working. Here is the story:
First, when i give power on tv, red led lights after some blinkings and i've noticed that picture apears but no backligt at all (i use a small light to see it).
Then i do flash with a FAT32 USB stick, the upgrade_loader.pkg file with the known OK button method. After that, the TV stops and when i press the ON-OFF button from remote control, the red led goes on but no backlight no picture at all.
I do took off the 2 flash IC's U10,U12 try to read them with flash programmer, but i get "Error... -

Originally you'd plug power supply into it and it would take up to 1.2 amps and then drop to 200 milliamps and then go back up again to 1.2, staying all the while at 5 volts. Pressing power button would results in power LED blinking amber 3 times. 3.3 volt rail, 5.1 volt rail present, main power rail 8.8 volts. Power button test pads near EC chip 2.7 volts.

That is, when powering up the tv, the indicator leds starts blinking and at a certain moment during the booting, (let's say afer 3-4 seconds) the screen lights up and shows the Toshibo logo for a second, then the screen goes black until a short flash a couple of seconds later and the indicatorled turns green.
