    Lg 42lb6300 hdmi

Hi guys, need your assistance on this one. I picked up this tv because the previous owner said it would not power up. I determined one or more leds were bad so they were replaced with a new set, and Voila, tv works. Now if I run cable to it, it works perfectly for days, however if I use any of the HDMI ports, it runs for about an hour or 2, then the backlights shut down. The image is still there and I have sound. All I have to do is unpower the tv or change input back to tv and they come back on. Can a bad IC on the main board cause this or should I replace power supply first? Im not good at reading voltages but another PS is cheap enough.

Oh another thing, this MB has 17,000 hours on it.

No you probably still have a problem with the led's. If you notice on your picture in back light level your H DMI ports may be running the backlights at a higher rate than other ports so the higher the backlights go the hotter they get in then they break contact.

If that is not the case make sure that it doesn't have some kind of Power saving mode enabled where it would shut down the backlights if the TV was to sit for a couple hours running

Thanks for the advice. After the tv was off for about 10hrs, I did a factory reset. I turned on the dvd player with uses an HDMI. The DVD menu was present then within 1 minute the screen went black. I switched to Tv and it switched, but the screen stayed black. Keep in mind I could still see images with the flashlight on both. Turned off the tv, turned it back on and the screen came back with tv. As soon as I inserted the hdmi, it went black again. I dont think the tv was on long enough for the leds to get hot and all settings were back to factory. Think I'll get a new main board.

Looks like it was a bad power supply. I switched and so far so good. Still trying to figure out why the old one goes bad when I switch to HDMI.

maybe a bad led driver ic etc failing under load some tvs you can set each section in picture settings, like tv to user profile, hdmi to movie or gaming, etc i wonder if these use a different brightness level hence leds being driven harder just a thought.

Marantz SR4003 AVR HDMI board issue, seeking for help
            by aliougm
I have problem with my AVR(Marantz SR4003) HDMI board issue. I connect to my TV but screen color distorted, see attached picture.

            Connection as below:
            Set-top box HDMI output >AVR 3 HDMI input/one HDMI output>HDTV HDMI port
If I bypassed AVR then HDTV screen color be good.

I take out HDMI board from AVR and check services manual the schematic shown the HDMI signals path:
            3 HDMI input port > SIL9185 chip(HDMI switch) > SIL9033 chip(HDMI receiver) > SIL9030 chip(HDMI transmitter) > HDMI output port

            I replaced all...

Lift Master Garage Door wall switch display / motion sensor controller display disappeared no back light
            by sam_sam_sam
This happened last Saturday and today I finally had time this morning before I went to work to replace two non brand capacitors

I will let you be the judge weather or not these are bad or not according to the blue ESR meter that I am using

I am comparing them to a brand new one that I installed

The display came back on and the programming was not lost which I was surprised by I would have thought that when the display went blank that so did the memory as well

I going to let it run for several days before I remount back on the wall next to the...

Certain DisplayPort-HDMI cables can disable HDMI CEC communication
            by japlytic
With a setup including a TV and AV receiver where HDMI Consumer Electronics Control (CEC) and Audio Return Channel (ARC) functions were working, these two functions stopped working after changing some connections (not the one between the AV receiver and TV), so I believed it was a corrupt setting in the AV receiver or TV, but when I disconnected a passive DisplayPort-HDMI cable (which a Multimode DisplayPort connector supports HDMI with a low cost passive cable or adaptor) connected to a home theatre PC, HDMI CEC and ARC functionality was restored.
An examination of the HDMI CEC wiring...
