I have a Vizio E701i-A3 that kept shutting itself off after between3 minutes to 3 hours. I thought it was a EEPROM so I replaced the main board and got the same results. So, I replaced the PS and it now works perfectly, has not shut down in a month. I would like to repair the PS if someone can suggest where to start as these intermittent problems can drive one crazy. Look for cold solder joints. Re solder all components that are connected to aluminum heat syncs, And re solder all Transformers. Most likely a thermal issue with stressed solderDid I leave the soldering iron on? -

Hi,
I’ve got a stubborn patient here. The laptop powers on and works, all components like the screen, keyboard, touchpad, etc. are functional. The issue is that it heats up very quickly under load (within a few minutes up to 95°C) and then shuts down shortly after. Subsequent attempts to turn it back on right after a “hot shutdown” result in it shutting off within a few seconds. Interestingly, if I enter the BIOS, it can stay there for 2 days without shutting down (most likely due to low CPU load and low temperatures).

Hello, I'm a beginner for micro soldering. Right now I have some difficult to solder a qfn 20, I guess I put too much solder on the thermal-ground pad, the result is a corner of chip wich don't touch the board (last try).
I use a wire solder with hot air, I tin the board and chip before with iron and I use good flux.
I will have to solder a LVDS connector (40 pins, laptop pc), I saw a solder paste in seringe, good quality (it does not scatter).

Hi.
picked up another TV. This time is a Vizio M65-C1. TV does not turn on. I had repaired another 60 inch vizio , Bad main board.
When power button is pressed, the Power led indicator on the bottom right, turns for a few seconds and then it fades away. No backlight or Vizio logo on screen. Removed back cover and repeated test.
