Missing part of screen on a Samsung

    Hi all

I have a problem with the Samsung TV. It has a dead horizontal bar on the top of the screen. It looks as 1/5 of the screen is missing. Tried to remove the tcon cable but it didnt change at all. Could it be an issue with the mother board.
When I removed the cable from the board that is getting in the tcon the line stayed for a minute and then faded

this looks like a defective LCD panel

    and is not repairable

as one of the side tabs has failed.

So it is not possible to be an issue with the main board that doesnt give information somehow where to visualise the picture? I lifted the panel from the led backlight and this part seemed to be transperant where the rest was showing the snow flickles

It is not a main board fault.
        Almost certainly a panel fault.

LCD works by transparent pixels appearing white, that's how brightness is modulated from the LED backlight.

Is there a way to fix it without replacing it?
          How could this possibly happen?

Not repairable in most instances when it's this type of failure.
Why does it happen? Because Samsung cheap out on their panels - pieces of crap!!

Do you think they're as bad as Sharp??? I'm more scared of Sharp right now, LOL.

And hopefully, my Samsung PC monitor on one of my PCs, aren't shitty like that!

I noticed that TVs are more likely to take a shit than ad-hoc computer monitors! Why?

If it has side gate drivers or side tab drivers you could look to see it either side is melted and try pressing on each side
Did I leave the soldering iron on?

Those distinct lines right underneath the white spot are a tell tale sign that the side drivers have failed on one side

Trouble to identify part (Lunii screen) for replacement
                        by FreakyMex
Hello guys. I'm a complete noob in electronics. I'd like to repair my child Lunii's (a "story box"), basically an audio player that allows the childs to choose between several options the places, characters, objects of the story, and then play a story according to the choice of the child. There is a screen that display the selected option before each choice. The Lunii fell and the screen is now broken.
I'd like to repair it (probably just have to change the part, because the lunii still works perfectly fine) but I can't manage to identify the part/order it online. Do you have any...

                        Samsung UE55JU6800K half screen dark
                        by Chrissygizmo
Hello everyone, I’ve just been given a Samsung UE55JU6800K smart tv as it had white spots on the screen due to the led lenses falling off. After refitting them & putting the tv back together I thought it was a nice easy fix for a free bedroom tv , then I tried it before screwing the back into place. I realised that the right side of the screen was darker than the other side, I removed the screen again as I thought the backlights had failed but they are fine.
I put the screen back in place & turned it back on . The screen seemed to be ok again but different screens on the same...

samsung galaxy ao2s very temperamental after screen replaced
                        by Chrissygizmo
Hi , I've recently replaced the screen in my Samsung galaxy ao2s, at first it wouldn't even turn on, it had the charging symbol on the screen when plugged in but the green circle wasn't going around to show it charging....
Ive eventually managed to get it on and working but it's very temperamental...

The battery icon always reads as 50% , when the phone goes into lock screen mode i sometimes can't get the screen back on unless I plug the charger in to get it to light up, also it keeps putting the camera app on.. u think it could be something to do with the side buttons. ...

                        by Kiberge
                        HI guys!

I've got a Samsung LH82QENELGC/EN with a problem and need some advice and I hope this is the forum to use?
I'm from Norway so I'd like to apology in advance if my description of the fault is kind of simple or the names on the components are way off. 😊

the TV is powering up, working as normally and picture is all good, except a 1.5-inch-wide vertical line of snow/static across the screen.

This TV is a Signage Display/Public Display version and it's been used at my work for 4-5 years showing commercials 24/7. The fault occurred when...

Macbook 2017 with touchbar (A1706) won't turn on after removing the screen
                        by Ryan.man
Hello everybody! Posting this in hopes somebody has some expertise that leads to a clear path of troubleshooting that saves me a lot of time!

My macbook has the flex cable problem, the one that prevents the screen turning on. Ive been dealing with this for the last 3 years. Last year it went dead and I managed to fix it following youtube tutorials. But my fix wasnt the best, the problem returned a month later. This week, it went dead again. I again tried to fix it.

This time the original cable broke too close to the screen, it can't be fixed without tearing the screen...
