One generalised question for you guys

Ok, so, listing nearby ads, I noticed that many broken LCDs are listed as
    "No picture, sound OK".

Being not very knowledgable myself, I haven't tried to fix any of these.

But, now one is listed that draws my attention, an 50" 4K Samsung. Listed at 80 Euros. No picture, sound works fine. I would so like to buy and fix it for myself.

Now, if someone could share most common problems of aformentioned symptoms, I'd be very grateful. One possible issue is, ofcourse, backlight, but other than that,
I have no clue. Could be panel, for all I know.

Also, any insight in problems is more than welcome.

    Thank you guys in advance

Usually backlight, tcon issues are the norm. If it's a curved 4K be weary of your purchase as it is very easy to crack these screens upon removal and installation if it has a backlight problem. I would make sure that the backlights are working but there is no video.

Also If you have no video but backlights are good be weary that there could be a problem with the LCD screen itself.

As usual, it s all in the eye of the beholder, what you're willing to pay for it and taking a gamble that the set may be or may not be repairable. This is the gamble that we all go through on this forum

I would get the model number first and then search that model in BADCAPS to see what comes up and what the common failures are.
