    VIZIO E320i-A2 Backlight Only

VIZIO E320i-A2 TV turns on with a backlight however no logo and no menu or volume or anything video wise. I figure EEPROM so purchased from SJ and installed and I get same result so I figure just get a main board. After digging in my extra parts I got lucky or so I thought and had one. I installed it with same result. How much of a coincidence can that be? It has no TCON so I was looking at the panel connection and found the fuse was good. SO my question is do I order a main and hope I had 2 bad boards? OR is there some way of testing the panel or is the panel shot? OR am I missing something on the power board I should be checking?

So the fuse on the INTEGRATED T-CON is good but do you get 12VDC at both ends of the fuse with ref to GND?

You can see many Voltage test points on that T-CO board you need to check, I.E. V12, V1D2, VSS, VGH, etc. So look for a bunch of them.

Ok this is odd! I tested both sides of the fuse before and the secondary side of it when I touched the positive lead of my meter to it I got the reading but the back lights shut down. I unplugged it and posted the above reply. After I turned it back on and retested and lights went out again unplugged then back in and this time I looked at the screen and had "No signal" so I grabbed the remote pressed menu and it came on slowly. I went to set up and did a scan for local channels and it went fine and now it's playing a channel normal like no issues however if I press menu or volume it shows on screen very slowly but works. wtf??? Cold voltage be low but still enough to run it right now?

Now back to square one. When it was on I went and reset the memory back to factory then went through the entire set up and all went fine. then it was on a channel for a while and played just fine. I shut it off with the remote and let it sit for a few minutes then turned back on with remote and again nothing but back lights and won't shut off with remote or buttons.

Unplug again then back in turn on still nothing but backlight then touch secondary side of that little fuse and just like that back on playing a TV show again.

Maybe look really close on the solder joints in that area. Are you sure the cable is seated properly?

Yes cable seated and went over a bunch of solder joints and if they even look remotely a problem reflowed it.
