    Sony KDL-40EX620 Panel damage?

can someone please tell me if this is definitely panel damage, or could a faulty mainboard or tcon cause this kind of display?
the whole display is affected by this "mirroring"

    thank you

it looks the common "sony tab problem" I have been trying to get some "success" out of kdl46xbr4 (thread posted). There are lots of threads and youtubes and such showing how to attempt to resolve the issue via pressure on the fault tab... usually the top right or left ones on the panel. There is no way to repair, best you can hope for is a "save" that may work for a while, on and off.

No budwich, is not a pressure sensitive defect.. there are many threads of the same problem, solution is the flat cable masking with tape..

you are probably right since there is no dark section just picture "stutter".

Yes agreed flat cable masking with tape is the only way to go this is an inherant internal short and I seriously doubt this panel has side tab drivers however the vertical gate drivers are built into the panel with the reference lines carrying down to the appropriate positions.

Disconnect one side of the ribbons to the panel at a time and see which 1 looks straight
Did I leave the soldering iron on?
