    Samsung PN50A450P1D Pink Screen Problem

Screen problem occurred about 6 years ago. Since then the TV has been unused and in storage.
Screen has a pink tint. See attached pics.
Set has 5 boards. Part numbers are:
    BN44-00207A Power Supply
    LJ41-05309A Main Logic
    LJ41-05986A Y Main
LJ41-05987A X MAIN with Sub Board
    BN94-02067B Main Board

Any suggestions as to what board/s can be the cause of the problem will be appreciated.
    Thanks

Run the test patterns. Unplug set,let sit 5 min. Unlatch the flat ribbon that goes from the mainboard to the logic board. Put a clip across pins 3&4 as shown in pic. Plug tv back in and watch the screen. If all colors look good, your mainboard is bad.

        ***UPDATE***

With the help of tvtimmy It has been determined that the X-Main board is causing the problem.
Will replace the board and update the forum as to the results.

Would it be too much to ask you to share with us the method to determine, the X-Main Bd. is the problem?

See post #2 As to what was suggested for me do.
I never did run the tests that were suggested. However before I did anything else I checked the fuse on the X-Main board and discovered it was blown.

The following is the conversation I had with tvtimmy

bedrck46, Before I follow your suggestion I have found that the
6.3 amp fuse was blown on the X-Main board.
Would you suggest that I replace the fuse and try the set again or would you suggest I replace the board?

I have looked at the board and I can not see any bad caps or burn marks on the front of the board. I have not removed the board to check the back side.

tvtimmy, Yes. Replace the fuse and check all the fets for shorts.

bedrck46, I replaced the fuse The TV would not turn on. I also was getting TWO flashing green LED's on the logic board and also a relay on the power supply was clicking on and off.

I then removed the fuse (it was still good Didn't blow) and turned the TV back on and now I am able to get the pink screen and also ONLY one green LED on the logic board if flashing.

My thoughts are the X-Main is bad Your thoughts?
            Thank you.

tvtimmy, Yes, the xmain is the problem.
There are 5 x- mains for that tv, what is your board number?
The most common one is very cheap at shopjimmy and even cheaper on ebay.

At this point I have ordered a replacement board and will update this thread after I receive and replace the board.

Re: Samsung PN50A450P1D Pink Screen Problem

Sorry to revive an old thread.. but I have a similar issue to this but due to the picture distortion as well as the colour. I wanted to confirm the diagnosis was indeed the X-main board as well.

I have the same TV as the listed on above: PN50A450P1D.

The TV spent its time off for the prior week, went to flip it on and as it booted heard a loud pop and the picture looked like the images attached.

Found a popped capacitor on the power board which was replaced, but the TV still has a distorted & discolored picture. I ran the diagnosis (jump pins 3 & 4 with main board disconected) with no change in the picture, TV was only on for a few second before turning itself off.

Can this be traced to an X-main board failure?

From the previous posts I would think you have a bad X-Main Bd. One of the posts spoke to the many X-Main Bds for that model TV. Check and double check before purchasing to ensure you get the correct board for your TV.

                        LCD TV Green/Pink screen problem

I have a Dick Smith 37" LCD TV, Model GE6804. I am using it as PC extended monitor only.

Problem is while watching tv, I hear a semi loud click(like a electrical breaker tripping due to overload, just sound like it but no actual electrical overload), then screen is covered with green or pink. I can still see the original picture image but overlayed by green or pink. See attached images. Pink.jpg is what I see, and Normal.jpg is before green or pink screen, What I captured was pink screen, but about 80% of time it's green and 20% of time it's pink.

                        Then each time...

                        by Chrissygizmo
Hello everyone, I’ve just been given a Samsung UE55JU6800K smart tv as it had white spots on the screen due to the led lenses falling off. After refitting them & putting the tv back together I thought it was a nice easy fix for a free bedroom tv , then I tried it before screwing the back into place. I realised that the right side of the screen was darker than the other side, I removed the screen again as I thought the backlights had failed but they are fine.
I put the screen back in place & turned it back on . The screen seemed to be ok again but different screens on the same...

I have an HP model : 14-cf0011nf and I want to change its display screen (it has an original 14" full HD TN 30 pins panel) which works without problem but I want to put another screen with an IPS panel, the problem is that I tried several screens but there is no display except with the original screen, I never had this problem before I changed hundreds without problems but this PC is not 'accepted than its original screen
otherwise on the motherboard it displays edp and I don't know, do the panels I tried only work with the LVDS protocol?

samsung galaxy ao2s very temperamental after screen replaced
                        by Chrissygizmo
Hi , I've recently replaced the screen in my Samsung galaxy ao2s, at first it wouldn't even turn on, it had the charging symbol on the screen when plugged in but the green circle wasn't going around to show it charging....
Ive eventually managed to get it on and working but it's very temperamental...

The battery icon always reads as 50% , when the phone goes into lock screen mode i sometimes can't get the screen back on unless I plug the charger in to get it to light up, also it keeps putting the camera app on.. u think it could be something to do with the side buttons. ...

                        by howardc64
Fixed a 9 year old UN55JU650 by replacing backlight. Original backlight LED was still working after 27k! hours but terrible picture of course. Few LEDs were out, 5-6 lens fell off (bright white spots) and another few popped off with slightest force. Surviving LEDs were all slightly blue so picture has a blue tint.

This TV runs older Tizen OS (updated to latest version, see pic) and have problems with network (wifi or ethernet) connection. The Tizen UI frequently switch to coax input source while changing content sources. . If no good signal (coax not connected, no prior antenna/cable...
