    Hello all.

First meaningful post. As the subject states, I have an RCA 65" LED TV. I got it a couple years ago after a deployment. Not too long after I got it, the one dead pixel spread to a line across the screen. RCA warranted it, and refunded my entire purchase price, but did not make me return the cord. As it was still 99% functional, I continued to use it until a couple of months ago when the screen went out. I took a quick video with my phone, which I'll link below.

I'm honestly brand new to TV component repair, so hopefully, one of you fin folks can help me sort out what broke, and how to fix it.

    Thanks!

    Later!

I take it you have sound but no picture? it looks like the screen flashes for a split second then shuts down? If this is the case more than likely you have a blown LED (s) inside the panel. I have two of these sets that I purchased within the last month for dirt cheap. Both had blown LED(s) and I replaced the individual LED(s), both sets are up and running. Dim the lights in your room, turn on the set and shine a flash light on the screen. I bet you will see a faint picture. These sets are notorious for LED failures.

Yeah. In the brief flashes, the screen is functioning, but then it flashes off. I wasn't sure if that indicated a power or main board, or led's. I assume there is info on how to troubleshoot and repair the led strips, so I'll see if I can sort that out.

      Thanks!!!!

wow, sorry for the late reply! I don't know if you are still working on the set or not but this may help someone else. There are youtube videos that walk you through troubleshooting LED backlights.
