This 2006 model picked up at recycling centre is in very good condition for age and very clean when opened. Checked all voltages as aok on power supply and this verified by all green LEDs on both main and input (jack ?) boards. While removing one connector from power board did get a brief squawk from speakers but no sound at all when tested using HDMI and AV inputs from DVD. Had already checked sound turned on in menu. Fitted remote headphone set to AV output and faint sound heard. All this leads me towards amplifier problem. Downloaded a service manual but it doesn't help much as part numbers/description do not line up with what I see. It looks like the input boards going by series (a b c) were changed about three times in one year in this model. Have read a number of threads and sound circuit was a problem with these. I'm not up to replacing other than basic ic items and can get another input board for about $50 (my limit !!). But other of the longer serving contributors to this forum may be able to suggest some tests or components to try first. All thoughts appreciated.

Thanks budm and the TAS5122 is mentioned for replacement in troubleshooting section of service manual. No oscilloscope or such. There is digital audio out which is showing red and av out only.Comment

Re: LG 37LC2D No sound, good picture.
I had a similar problem already. I built audio amps using two LM386 ICs and connected internally to the Audio Out connector and sent the output directly to the internal speakers. Nothing original was overheating so I was lucky. I think the set is still working and this was two years ago.Comment

Re: LG 37LC2D No sound, good picture.
Well I decided to get the input board while available here in Oz. I then put up on local buy/sell Facebook site my ad for broken TVs. Got 5 sets in 3 days and yes one was same lg model as this problem one! The latest one was dead, PSU swollen cap and blown fuse. Swapped PSU and got one working TV. Replaced cap on other PSU but when fitted to set the standby was OK but at switch on led briefly to green then a hiss as fuse blows again so obviously a dead short to search for now on that PSU. Strangely over the few years looking at faults on various sets this is the first time I have had a main fuse blown problem as far as I can recall.Comment

by MgiffuneI have a 60 inch Samsung UN60EH6000F flatscreen TV. The screen went black a few months ago Sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. I replaced the TCon board with a used board purchased from Ebay. It worked fine for a 3-4 months, then the screen started ‘fading' back. Once again, sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. However, this time the picture looks fine for about 10-15 minutes, then fades back. If I power cycle the TV, the display reappears, for another 10-15 minutes, then fades black again. Repeatable ever time.
I ordered a supposedly ‘new' Tcon board this time, and... -
by TR103Hi, I have a Samsung UE50TU with:
- sound and backlight, but no picture
- when it arrived, it had a picture for a few seconds
- it keeps rebooting
- without ribbon cable between the two panel boards, it does not reboot but I have no picture
- without cable between mainboard and lcd panel, it does not reboot (but obviously i have no picture)
- when i try a tape fix, its keeps rebooting, unless I tape off pin 1 (the innermost pin). In that case it does not reboot but I have no picture.

by jord4231Hi Everyone,
I'm working on a Toshiba 37AV500A Regza TV.
The issue:
TV was working picture and sound went out. Green stand by light stayed on, It will respond to the power button being pressed (goes in and out of standby)
The TV will very intermittently work for around 40 mins then stop. This doesn't seem to matter if its hot/cold unplugged for a while etc.
I checked the PSU voltages and everything looked good.
No bulging caps or signs of heat.

by IerwinHello everyone,
Ive got a UE60KU6079 on the workbench that is giving me some headaches trying to troubleshoot.
The previous owner stated that there had been white dots on the screen which from the description sounded like some lenses fell of the backlight LEDs.
He had opened the TV from the back, trying to get to the backlight, supposedly gave up, reassebled everything and gave the TV to me.
I expected the worst like ripped COF cables or a cracked panel but could not find anything like that yet.
Anyway I still fully expect that there has been something seriously damaged... -
by jchangHi all
I was just given a Samsung TV with the issue. I read various threads and videos and attempted the ribbon tape method to gain an image, but no luck.
Symptom:
No picture no sound.
When I plug in the power cord, Backlight LED turns on for a half second and then turns off. The red LED next to the power button located center bottom flashes 2 or 3 times. When the power button is pressed after, it does the same thing.
No sound at all.
What I tried:
1. I tried unplugging the left or right ribbon... - Loading...
- No more items.
