looks like a bad panel to me. disconnect a ribbon cable that goes from the t-con to the panel. power on and check the picture, then reinsert the cable and disconnect the other side.

Bad panel is on the cards but I think if you can reflow or heat up the main IC on the mainboard it can be that. common problem. If you have another main from a LV LS or LW of the same year they may interface into it for a test. You'll have to do some research. Got someone over here chasing a LS5500 board, also looking for those others so may be some compatibility

        Good luck

If you do not have maybe download the training manual.

It shows how you can force a test pattern at the T-con.

Re: Help with LG 47LV550W troubleshooting

When cables from mainboard to t-con is removed (picture) the lines disapear and screen is completly empty/dark.

The T-Con board is behind the stand and need more work to get to. Can do this but if you guys are certain that its a bad panel i may as well scrap this one.

Any more toughts or things i should try?

Read about how to enable test pattern. But what kind of tools or wires should one use when making the jumper connections? Everything is so small.

Mate never tried it but I do have a model I should be able to try it on. Won't be for a week though. I went looking for the training manuals cos I was reading up on a panasonic you can activate test pattern on txon from main board.

practical courses for troubleshooting pc motherboards
                    by blues_spirit
                    Hello from France,
mon2 kindly advised me to post a thread to ask the question(s) I'm concerned about. I'm new to the forum and I'm looking for practical courses for troubleshooting pc motherboards especially laptops in Europe, if possible in France. I have been a computer network system administrator and a corrector of administration modules for automated programs under Unix. But I really miss the practical "ops" side of troubleshooting. So I would like to start from the beginning: 1.8V, 3.3V, 5V and 19V tests for example, etc...
Do you think this is feasible for me? I...

GV-N2060OC-6GD REV 2.0 GIGABYTE video card troubleshooting assistance needed.
                    by gcrezz
The issue with this video card is the HDMI port. Specifically on pin 19 (Diode checks on all other pins are normal). When i do a diode check on it from the pin on the board itself, I have nothing. There is also no short on the pin. Resistance reads about 200k. Normally on any HDMI pin 19 I would expect some voltage drop anywhere from .5v to 1.2v but here, I have nothing. The card is operational and can be used via the displayPort ports, but not through the HDMI. Attached you will find the pdf schematics for the card on page 22. I have verified that all of the resistors on this line before the...

Looking for assistance troubleshooting a Panasonic TC-P65ZT60 with 3 LED Fast Blinks
                    by CrewmanRedShirt
                    Hello all,
As the title states, I followed the troubleshooting guide located here: https://www.manualslib.com/manual/23...page=53#manual, which concluded the 'A' board needs to be replaced. Looking around the net and eBay, I see that there are repair services for the board (TNPH1043UE? Not sure if it is a 'UE' as the suffix grid does not appear marked). What additional troubleshooting can be performed to ensure 1) this board is the problem and 2) since there are repair services, what are they fixing on the board?) I expected 3.3V not to be available anywhere...

Troubleshooting Old Chiefmax 650Watt ATX Switching Power Supply
                    by Zippie
I’m looking for some advice troubleshooting an old Chiefmax 650w power supply in a PC, if it’s advisable to dig into it.

Worst case I can replace the PSU, I’m just interested in learning the troubleshooting process. However, it’s out of my area of expertise and I could use some direction.

During PC operation I heard a loud pop noise, like a cap gun and the tower lost power.

Initially there is no power output 3.3v, 5v, or 12v when jumping the power on pin to ground. Also, no fan power.

Opening the PSU the only things visible initially...

Looking to learn about troubleshooting my Lenovo L14 Gen 1
                    by eliasseverholt
                    Hello!

Unfortunately my Lenovo L14 Gen 1 (motherboard NM-C741) was involved in a terrible mishap. At first, one of my friends accidentally spilled coffee on it which made some of the ports stop working but the computer worked fine otherwise. After that I stupidly opended it and forgot to disconnect the battery... One thing leads to another and I accidentally short it between two components (unfortunately I do not remember which components). After that I get nothing, no charging indication, no boot indication, no fan spin, nothing.

So I'd love to learn my mistakes and...
