    Samsung LN T3753H Video Issues

Hello. I received a Samsung LN T3753H TV from my father-in-law. It works, but the video has some shimmering off colors, especially seen in the reds. The power supply board has 3 caps that are bad with one especially bad. Other entries at this forum indicate that it could be the T-Con board going bad as well. Wanted to check your opinions before proceeding.

As for my skill level, I'm a computer tech and am handy enough with a soldering iron to replace the caps. I've also replaced a T-Con board in another Samsung TV he handed down to me that was broken and it works fine now. But I know power supplies can hold enough voltage to kill me, so I'm wary to work on the PS board without warnings and assistance.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Need pictures of problem. You can check dcv across main cap for voltage
I assume no responsibility for any stupid suggestions I might post.

Here is a pic of the power board. I've circled the bad caps. The two together are slightly puffed. The single small one barely looks like it is puffing out. The single larger one is definitely bad or going bad.

      Thanks for the help.

OK. But, as I don't know what to touch safely, any advice on making my way around the power supply board after pulling it out? Thanks.

Measure dcv voltage across large main cap. If it has been unplugged for a while it should have no voltage

Thanks, dskall. Voltage was 0. Replaced the caps, so the power board is OK. But I still get shimmering on colors. T-Con board?

Some pictures of screen with problem would help

Here are some pictures. The car shows the poor quality on the side. The explosion shows a lot of the poor colors and pixilation.
