    LG 60pz750

I just fixed this model, had the cracked solder joints on the coils of both z sus and y sus, with only 3 shorted igbts. I replaced them and another 3 FGPF4633 with 6 gt30j124 (I wanted to try them, overkill but cheap) The main fuse on the z sus was blown also.
The tv fired right up and I scanned for channels, and all was great. This morning I put a usb drive with a movie on it and it played perfectly. I changed inputs back to tv and no signal on all 42 that I can get!!! Hdmi and the usb port still work.
I am going to try a firmware update on it, and then maybe a factory reset if needed.
Has anybody solved this issue? Mainboards are extinct for this set, only repair services from e bay. Will post results.

I dunno, $300 bucks gets you a new board.

I'd be tempted to reflow or replace the tuner module. I've had a PK750 with a bad one, hardly picked any channels up or displayed bad signal quality, broke up a lot. Replaced the module and fixed. Was not a Sanyo module but could be similar internals

those sets are notorious for having the main chip in the main board fail... you can sometimes get the set to work correctly but heating the chip with a heatgun to troubleshoot but the issue will return unless its repaired... BTW you can get these boards repaired on ebay for like $75...
#1 issue is a lit up blank screen.

A reflow of the bga chip did the trick.

Clearly, the years 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016 were the "PC malaise era"!

I noticed things were much better in 2019 and even now in 2020, with the new coronavirus, things are much better!

2018 was shit, because of the insane video card prices!

Bad panel or bad mainboard? Visio E601i-A3
          by knoxrebel

Tv powers on and input is able to be selected/used, but the on screen menu closes as soon as it is opened and the there are some periodic "glitches" of the on screen menus in relation to position and size. I have tried all the system resets, but because the menus are not usable, i was unsuccessful. Does this seem like a panel issue? Odd that it only affects the menus and not the main input picture. I have already tried disconnecting front panel buttons assuming one was stuck down causing the input to continually be scanned or similar.

          LG 60PS70 or 60PZ750
          by goldbird78
Hi all, not a technical question but more of an opinion. I have an opportunity to purchase either a 60PS70 or a 60PZ750 both have very low hours. The PZ is a 3D TV that does not really interest me at all. I am more interested in picture quality and build quality. I have seen both and it appears to me the 60PS70 has the better picture but that could just be settings. Anyone knows the real "guts" of the TV's, there opinion would be much appreciated. Thx

Macbook Pro 8.2 2015 kernel task 100% and very very slow
          by smic717394
          Hi,

I need a bit of help. I have a Macbook pro end 2011 8.2. I bought it of a customer cheap because it has a bulged battery. I replaced the battery and upgraded the ram 2x8GB total 16GB, and replaced the HDD with a SSD. What happens with this laptop is very strange and I don't know where to begin. The laptop doesn't panic, tha fans run normal even when the kernel is 100%. If I reset the SMS, will run normal for about 30 to 1 hour then the kernel_task goes to 95% and the laptop become unusable. If I reset the sms agail will run again normally for some time. I thought is the battery,...
