    Panasonic TC-L42U30 No Standby

    I've been trying to diagnose the problem with this power supply for a week or so and am struggling to find it. I've pulled several caps and they tested ok, have tested the bridge rectifier and have 168.5V DC out of it. I ended up finding a 470uf cap (right side of pic) in the standby power circuit that had been twisted on the board and was shorting. The solder on the cap looked factory and after untwisting it had a good 1/4" between the board and the bottom of the cap. I de-soldered and pushed it down on the board. I'm not sure how it ended up that way but I'm wondering if it killed other components when it shorted. after tracing the standby circuit it appears to go to the smaller yellow (transformer?) on the right center of the pic so I was assuming it was getting standby power out of that. I need help testing here because I get no voltage at the transformer out to the standby pins. There are two transformer pins that are showing 165V with arrows on the board pointing away from it and a few others that are showing very low voltage. I'm not sure if it's the transformer bad or something before that.

    Also in an effort to help diagnose I applied 5v dc via an adapter to the standby circuit near the pin and in doing so when pushing the power button the power supply relay clicked on and off twice followed by the TV flashing the standby led 10 times.

    Check the voltages on ic201? its the 7 pin ic near the standby transformer, look up its number for the spec sheet to get the voltages, (NOTE: voltages on the HOT side are referenced to HOT Ground [D101 bridge rectifier negative]) but they do go bad quite often. Did you check F201 fuse?
    Is the ic a STR-A6051M

      Your fuses are good? What is the number of that ic next to small transformer? May have pulled the leads out of the cap. I would check that it is good.
      I assume no responsibility for any stupid suggestions I might post.

        Ok, so I'm testing this with the board pulled and plugged in.

        I had desoldered that IC already and resoldered. The IC is an a A6051m like mentioned.

        Here are the values in reference to hot ground at the rectifier:

        1:0
        2:0
        3:0
        4:0.642V
        5:5.09V

        7:165.4V
        8:165.4V

        In testing those I tested the standby pin with hot ground and am seeing -4.8v... maybe that doesn't mean anything because went tested against the case or board ground I get 0V.

        Also, I traced the 5V VSS out of that IC to several NEC 2581 components at the hot to cold line but they show very little to no voltage.

        Also, I pulled the twisted cap and it checks out fine.

          Fuses good and cap is good.

              If the voltage between pins 2 and 3 is 0V as you say, then you need to check carefully the values of the resistors in the resistance chain leading back to the main capacitor.

                Hi everyone, i am a newbie here and i hope i will find the help i need. I have the above mentioned receiver with standby transformer's primary coil damaged. I have searched the net without success to find any tech data about this transformer. I have only the Sony part number1-437-313-11 and TAM Malaysia M0126. I guess i could find replacement for it, but i need to know the secondary coil voltages and VA. It is 220v on the primary. It has 5 pins on the secondary, the outer two are not used and i have 6.5 ohms between pins 2and 4, 3,9 ohms between 2 and 3, and 3,6 ohms between 3 and 4. Can someone...

                Hi All,
                Wanting to learn some electronics repair skills.
                I found a non working Panasonic TC-P60S30 and this is my first project / attempt.

                So far I have found a blown cap on the main power supply board.
                After replacing it there's still no standby power.

                Poked around and found a resistor on the PSUB power supply board that measures open.

                An online resistor calculator shows this is a 93k ohm resister.

                My questions:

                Is that correct, 93k ohms?
                Is it a fusible resistor?
                Lastly, how do I know what wattage?...

                Hi All,

                I have the above mini HiFi that after powering displays the standby LED and when the power switch is pressed the relay momentarily clicks in then cuts out again.

                I've included an image of the power board schematic.



                There is 5.9V present on pin 4 of CN507 and when the standby button is pressed 2.6V momentarily appears on pin2 of the same connector.

                Any thoughts would be welcome.

                Got a TH-55FX600 that is showing no signs of life.

                Outputs from the P board look good, but no 12V on the A board.

                Very similar to https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...3e-identidy-ic but where Tibd has 3.3v on the EN pin I have nothing, no voltage at all.

                Looking at the diagram for the IC I can see the enable is W_OPCTRL9, but I can't find a source for this, can anyone help please?

                I got a Yamaha HTR-3065 on the bench currently that's got a no power/ no standby issue.When I plug it in it draws 0.01A from the wall, the relay for the ac transformer never clicks, there are no standby lights on the front, and pressing the power button does nothing. The fuse was not blown but upon measuring the voltages on the power low voltage power supply board (labeled operation 3 pg 89 in the schematic) they do not match what the schematic says they should be.
                S9 13.7V

                Pwr Ry 0V
                AC Det 9.1V
                Mgnd 0V GND

                The two pins on the transformer for the operation...
