This set came with an infestation of small cockroaches as it had been sitting in a warehouse for many months. Took it right apart down to screen and cleaned it up as best I could after getting rid of the inhabitants. Before and after this the set turns on with either remote or set button the backlight comes on and then chimes play but nothing on screen. Backlight stays on as does the set - it closes down itself much later. Have cleaned and reset lvds and checked voltage to sub tcon at just over 12v and also 3.3v to what looks like Eeprom. There is a long board across bottom of set with two strap connections to screen - they look ok but I have no experience with this aspect. My guess is either Eeprom or screen and the stupid all on one main power inverter board ST6306PUM-TP5 will prob be hard to find info etc or any firmware. Small board is marked STLVDS.

Re: Soniq E40V16A. AU no menus or picture
I agree just wasn't sure if chimes were startup one or shutdown but as backlight stays on should be the former. The lvdss goes to a very small sub board then to the bonded long board - at least I can see it but will be difficult to work on. Tried a DVD and cycled source button but nothing. Tv came from 150km away so won't be tuned to our stations and no menu coming up.Comment

Went thru the routine of selecting source with remote with DVD on HDMI and got sound on 3rd attempt so now ruled out eeprom and will look closely at integrated tcon and connections.Comment

Re: Soniq E40V16A. AU no menus or picture
Well the problem of age strikes again - mine that is!!
When first getting sets to work on I do a quick check on each for start up signs etc, make brief notes on scrap of paper, then put to one side until I get time to work on them. Of course for this one I couldn't find my notes until today and I had recorded there that Soniq logo came up before chimes played. This would indicate screen circuitry ok ? No damage seen on connectors or straps but in my poking about have lost the logo. On YouTube there are a couple of videos regarding loss of picture due to a glitch with energy savings mode. One guy gets his set to turn on with a button sequence which I tried - no go. Another solves problem with firmware update but doesn't say where he got that from. Soniq here tell me there is no new firmware for this model. So I'm back to Eeprom after giving the connectors and straps due attention. What do I need to do though to check signal output as suggested above?Last edited by maxvalutech; 08-10-2017, 08:34 PM.Comment

There may be no updates but can they give you the original file to flash?Comment

Re: Soniq E40V16A. AU no menus or picture
As is usual with many sets the logo comes on with a few sparkling stars or whatever then backlight then picture. I was getting first two but shorting Eeprom and poking about I lost the logo although backlights and sound are ok and on. The set responds to buttons and remote. Soniq here useless but did find a US site with a heap of Soniq firmware and even though not my exact model have downloaded a bin file and have other info re loading it so will probably give it a go - nothing to lose now. techresources.soniq.comComment

by Ryan.manHello everybody! Posting this in hopes somebody has some expertise that leads to a clear path of troubleshooting that saves me a lot of time!
My macbook has the flex cable problem, the one that prevents the screen turning on. Ive been dealing with this for the last 3 years. Last year it went dead and I managed to fix it following youtube tutorials. But my fix wasnt the best, the problem returned a month later. This week, it went dead again. I again tried to fix it.
This time the original cable broke too close to the screen, it can't be fixed without tearing the screen... -
Have a Samsung UN50NU7400 which shows a boot screen and a screen saver if left on long enough but no picture ?
Would a moving screen saver confirm that the panel is ok or it could still be a panel issue ? -
by reformattJust had a customer bring in a M2 MBA A2681 that had had a screen replacement in April at another repairer. Since then, she has been getting intermittent kernel panics. It's an aftermarket screen, and of course it fails in diagnostics as the calibration hasn't been done. The error in the panic log is "No device added after powering on the rails".
It seems the original repairer has swapped the board and the screen to other MAC's, and said that it isn't a screen issue. From what I understand, by doing a quick search on Google, this is in fact a screen issue. The panic relates...07-31-2025, 08:37 PM -
by nasdaaHello, I need your help for a failure on a laptop:
It's a Packard Bell Kayf0, motherboard LA-5021P, Rev 1.0 with graphic issue.
I received this pc because it was turning on but not displaying anything, the fans are running normally and all chipsets heat up on startup but no picture on screen, no backlight either. I noticed that ENAVDD and ENVDD are not present and that there is no LCDVDD on the connector. I didn't check the screen because, maybe I'm wrong, but if there aren't these signals, even if the screen is good, it can't display anything? I tried heating the... -
by burbutsalosHello everyone.
I have this TV set which has this issue. It shows a vertical bar im the middle of the screen.
The panel has 12 cofs and the problem seems to be on the territory of the first cof on the right side.
The tv fires up and you can see a good picture exept that vertical part where multicoloured pixels exist.
The strange thing there is that you can see behind that snow that it shows picture but as if there are these pixels in front so you cannot see clearly.
The effect is there even on a completely black screen.
The screen... - Loading...
