    Bush LCD40883F

    Hi All
Wonder if any one could help with some info on this set ?
The original fault was no sound or intermittent sound. Now I know this was a faulty ic u168 audio amp chip as stated by Tom66.
And as he said you need to remove this with a heat gun.
Now I proceeded to do this with my work station heat gun and was being as careful as I could, but unfortunately a couple of the tracks got damaged !!
Now I may be able to repair them but it will be very very difficult ?
But before I attempted this I started a search on eBay to see if there was a replaceable board available ? And yes there was but they were a bit expensive at around £25 to £30 .
But on a more intense search I found a identical board that looked exact in every detail but was from a different model TV. The board is from a Techwood 40940 FHDDIGITAL at a reasonable price.
So I sent for it, when it arrived I compared it to the original board and it looks exact, So I went ahead and installed it.
When I switched the TV on all worked ok good picture and sound.
But when switched on the sound bar appears on screen and travels down to zero sound you can increase the sound on the remote by holding your finger on the v up button and pressing the ok button when it is at the desired volume.
When you go into the menu and go onto picture and try to adjust any of the picture values :ie colour/brightness/contrast when you enter these it does the same the bar comes up and travels all the way to zero !!
The set works ok nice picture and sound.
I can tune in Freeview channels although only using a portable digital Arial that seems limited and have also tried the hdmi connections using a firestick and this works fine.
What I think is my problem is maybe a software issue or would I have to set anything in the service mode.
If any one could point me in the right direction to sort out the menu and volume issues it would be most appreciated.

Sounds like a different firmware on the replacement board.
Have you got photos of the track damage ?

      Hi diif
Here is a photo if it comes through.
The tracks to the left where one is missing also a couple on that same side are lifting.

The trace can either be replaced by a bit of wire to the component it goes to or the pad replaced with a piece of copper foil stuck down with some high temperature epoxy and the trace soldered to it.

It's possible like the right hand side the bottom two pins share the same pad. Its a little tricky to see in your photo but as you have a replacement board you should be able to easily confirm.

Is the missing amp ic a TPA3113D2 ? if so that missing pad is NC in the data sheet so doesn't need bridging. Replacement IC £4.50 delivered from ebay.

              Yes it is a TPA3113D2
I have ordered a replacement but was hoping that someone knew how to maybe reprogram it in service mode.

Not looking forward to soldering the replacement ic as tracks are very fine and my eyes are not that good anymore.
So if anyone has any idea on how to reset the new board would rather take that route if it was possible.

If you're not feeling confident, cover the postage and I'll solder it on for you.
I use a stereo microscope, so have no worries with the size.

                    Hi diif
That is a very kind offer .
But first let me explain the replacement ic arrived this morning and I started to solder it on
now I have been very careful and have double checked no legs are shorted, but being very limited I have only touched on each leg with soldering iron being worried not to put solder on for fear of shorting the legs.
After this I reinstated the board to see if it would work .
Unfortunately it did not as there was no sound so would need to be checked.
But what I did notice was that with the board reinstated I was getting the same response as with the replacement board, i:e when tv switched on the volume bar came on screen and travelled all the way to zero if you press volume + it keeps going back to zero but if you hold v+ continually and when it gets to the level you want if you press ok it will stay at that level.
Also if you go into menu and select audio in that menu you have volume, balance, base, stereo on/off.
now you can set the volume level in that menu much easier i:e it stays where you put it but if tv is put in standby same again when switched on volume bar comes on and goes to zero again . And if you go into picture menu all are set (contrast, brightness, colour, tint) and if you enter any of these menus the same happens as soon as you start to adjust they keep going to zero.
Now this is weird because this is happening with both av boards.
Maybe the fault is some ware else it has got me baffled.
Now I have had the tv on for a couple of hours now with the replacement board and it is running great sound has stayed where I set it and picture is great. It is just this miner problem with the sound at switch on and the menu issues.
Don't know whether this gives you any more clues.
Or maybe the volume travelled back to zero on the old board because the ic was not fully soldered in properly ?
                    not sure.

sounds like you have a stuck button or dodgy ir sensor. disconnect one and see if it continues to do so.

measuring voltage will allow you to see if the command is active or not.

                        Hi All
This set is now working fine.
The fault was with the side tv buttons controls the connection wires had gotten trapped and damaged the connector plug once repaired all working well with the replacement board.
A big thank you to diif for all his help and thank you for all who offered their help.

                            Hi, I have a Samsung UE50TU with:

                            - when it arrived, it had a picture for a few seconds
                            - it keeps rebooting
                            - without ribbon cable between the two panel boards, it does not reboot but I have no picture
                            - without cable between mainboard and lcd panel, it does not reboot (but obviously i have no picture)
                            - when i try a tape fix, its keeps rebooting, unless I tape off pin 1 (the innermost pin). In that case it does not reboot but I have no picture.

Samsung UN60EH6000F Black Screen, Backlight and Sound Good. Power Cycle Returns Picture
                            by Mgiffune
I have a 60 inch Samsung UN60EH6000F flatscreen TV. The screen went black a few months ago Sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. I replaced the TCon board with a used board purchased from Ebay. It worked fine for a 3-4 months, then the screen started ‘fading' back. Once again, sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. However, this time the picture looks fine for about 10-15 minutes, then fades back. If I power cycle the TV, the display reappears, for another 10-15 minutes, then fades black again. Repeatable ever time.

I ordered a supposedly ‘new' Tcon board this time, and

Samsung UE60KU6079 backlight okay mainboard responsive, no picture, no sound
                            by Ierwin
                            Hello everyone,
Ive got a UE60KU6079 on the workbench that is giving me some headaches trying to troubleshoot.
The previous owner stated that there had been white dots on the screen which from the description sounded like some lenses fell of the backlight LEDs.
He had opened the TV from the back, trying to get to the backlight, supposedly gave up, reassebled everything and gave the TV to me.
I expected the worst like ripped COF cables or a cracked panel but could not find anything like that yet.
Anyway I still fully expect that there has been something seriously damaged...

                            by jchang
                            Hi all

I was just given a Samsung TV with the issue. I read various threads and videos and attempted the ribbon tape method to gain an image, but no luck.

                            Symptom:
                            No picture no sound.
When I plug in the power cord, Backlight LED turns on for a half second and then turns off. The red LED next to the power button located center bottom flashes 2 or 3 times. When the power button is pressed after, it does the same thing.
                            No sound at all.

                            What I tried:
                            1. I tried unplugging the left or right ribbon...
