    Sony 65XBR900a - Horizontal lines and yellow stain

    Hi!

    First, thank you for having me here, this community seems exactly what I was looking for.

    I have a LED Sony 65" TV model number 65XBR905a - it's the same as the international model branded 65XBR900a, the 5 only specifies it's for latin america.

    My TV has long time passed the warnity and I can't claim anything from the seller or sony anymore.

    After much googling I found this thread at AVS:

    Which states sony Japan is aware of the horizontal line problem of the TV. Sadly I can't ask for a new panel here in Brazil.

    The problem is that I have a square yellow stain in the uper left corner of the TV.

    When displaying a grey background I get a light grey in the entire upper part of the TV and the correct grey image on 2/3 of the image.

    All the problems are way more noticeable when displaying bright images.

    Could this be a bad led tube?
    I can find most of the spare parts of this TV from used sets except for the panel.
    So, unless it's a defective panel I still have hope for this set.

      From what I could see......I think you do have a bad panel.....Post some pictures of the TV with the rear cover removed and one with video signal applied so we could see what is really showing on YOUR screen. There may be a trick or two that we could try to remedy your symptom.

          I'm really sorry for the late reply. I've been to the hospital and fixing a tv was the last thing my health would allow.

          I finally took the pictures from inside the TV and some test patterns to show the problem.

          This tv is too big, too heavy to take somewhere and also here in a small city in Brazil it's almost impossible to find someone to work on it.

              At least do you think it's a panel defect or it could be something else?
              Is it worth still investigating?

                  feed in some color bar patterns to help show how the screen responds (lots of known test patterns can be found on dvd special features and in computer file to generate of a computer). Odds are high it is a panel issue BUT depending on the makeup of the panel, some can be saved by removing the tab drivers on the troubled side of the set. Not sure about this sony. Look for tab bonded flex cables along each side.... don't try to do anything just yet other than look. Provide pictures of what you find.

                      5.5 year old 85 inch Sony Bravia X950G started showing gray horizontal lines across the bottom of the screen and the picture shifts slightly vertically when it happens. The lines sometimes get bigger/smaller vertically and bounce back. See the video for the problem. It seems to be happening after it warms up after an hour or so. Happens regardless of source. Right now there's nothing but power cable connected and it's happening.                       Hi, I have a Sony XBR-65X750D that has horizontal lines at the bottom 6 inches of the screen. These lines appear to be every other line because the picture is still quite visible behind those lines. The lines appear all the time with a few other lines above and below the 6 inch level blinking on and off at about 2 second intervals. I'm not sure if this is a panel issue or power supply/main board problem. I did replace the T-Con board without any change in the problem. Any suggestions you might have would be greatly appreciated.                       All left and right refers to looking from rear of TV (or looking from front with TV upside down)
                      • TV came with vertical bars and no image. Found faulty TVS on left buffer board. Also replaced T-Con (may have damaged the original while hot air removing components, board has slight warp) and have full image but few horizontal lines on the screen. Some of the lines appears to be 2 pixel tall while others are 1 pixel tall.
                      • Disconnecting left and right buffer board potentially reveals problems on both sides with different signals (unless this T-Con require jumper like Samsung FB_TRDY1&3) Fault

                      good morning! I have a problem with this Sony. The image has a pattern of black horizontal lines, I attach a photo of the lines. The power supply is external and emits a sound. I don't think it's because of that. Let's see if someone can help me.

                      I have a Sony Smart TV XBR65X900H that started to have horizontal lines on the right side of the screen (see attached picture). When I played video on Youtube green horizontal line at regular intervals(1/4") across the screen.
                      I replaced the T-Con board but the lines are still there.
                      I believe this issue is from the Main Board. Before I replace the Main board, I wanted to seek advise if this is the problem from the Main board or something else?
