So i have another thread on an LG 47lw5600 LED tv which has no backlight. Im waiting on some parts to come in the snail mail before I can test it, but I have been researching the issue online and it seems that ALOT of these things are burning up the lighting elements. Sounds as if they are pushing to much power through the LED strips. I see alot of people recomend lowering the brightness on them to reduce the risk of them burning up.
I may be wrong here, but what I noticed is that the majority of these TVs doing it are 3D tvs. When in 3d mode, any display device has to put out ALOT of lumens to make the 3d look right, i would bet these displays automatically crank the lumens up for 3d. Im wondering if the majority of these that are going out are from people who used the 3d feature alot.
