I was able to order a replacement board for this tv,
the logic board 1-895-307-11 MBP,
from PartServ
(ShopJimmy was out of stock and low expectations of replenishment),
replace the board,
enter the service menu thru the secret key sequence,
and take a guess at selecting the correct panel (which was extra difficult because the text on screen was so pixelated it was very hard to read.
I used my smart phone to take photos, then edited the photo to increase clarity as much as I could, and when it restarted, the display was the proper orientation and clear text!
total part cost $80
time of research approx 2 hours
time of repair approx 1 hour
saved approx $1,000 if I had to buy a new tv at comparable size 60" and features
