    Another sick Vestel

    Hi all.
A friend handed me a not-so-old Vestel effort- local supermarket branded sh*te.
It has a 17IPS71 PSU and a 17MB82S main board.

    The report was 'Flashing LED'.

Before even plugging it in, I whipped the back off to see if there were any of the usual cracked/swollen cap's, shorted diodes etc., but there was nothing obvious. So I powered it up, hit the power button on the side and sure enough, the standby LED started flashing away. But, after 6 flashes, I noticed the backlight showing through the holes on the metal backplate, the set had started up! I popped a source into HDMI and everything looked fine. I left it running for 1/2 hour or so, gave it a good shake about, checked voltages here & there and everything seemed quite stable. Put it to standby, then it wouldn't start up again. LED flashing in blocks of 5, and a slight hiss/squeal from the PS (which wasn't there before- I notice these things), modulating slightly in time with the flashes. Tried freezer spray, leaving it overnight, still won't go.
I know it's not worth spending much time, money or effort on but as it's a friend.... you know how it is!

The voltages measured at the inked points are:

Stby; Trying to start (flashing led)

    1) 12, 12
    2) 30, 32
    3) -55, -70
    4) 29.7, 31.6

Here are more pic's of its innards.

Any hints would be much appreciated, TIA :-)

hiss/squeal from the PS sounds like more than just software.
I assume no responsibility for any stupid suggestions I might post.

            Big thanks to @ReeceyBurger123, @vinceroger69 and @dskall.
Set now OK again following the instructions on Reece's yt video.
The PS noise threw me- I guess it was making the noise all along, I just didn't hear it with the back on.

Elitebooks (820, 840 etc. all gens) and those continuously flashing Power LED + flashing CapsLock LED
              by STKR123
As the Elitebooks (820, 840 all gens) only show flashing Power LED and flashing CapsLock (continuously) + a very soft "ticking" noise near the DC Jack,
I wonder if re-flashing the BIOS might be of any use here.

As far as I understood, steady flashing either means insufficient power or a CPU/GPU/Motherboard issue. I use the original 65watt power supply.

There are so many threads out there, but most of the solutions involve flashing codes, which I dont have or claim that you MUST use the original power supply, do a hard reset, reseat the RAM, clean the RAM,...

              Hello Community!

              CASE DETAILS

Promblem Signs: Backlight on 1 sec off 7sec > repeat && Red standby light: 1blink, off 3 sec, 2 blinks, off 5 secs, 2 blinks, off 3 sec, restart cycle

13V present on powerboard output. Backlight continues flashing after removing cables to pannel one at a time and even with both disconnected. NOTE: backlight STOPs flashing and remains on when connector between powerboard and mainboard (note Tcon built in) is disconnected.

Tried inserting firmware on USB and left it in for a few hours, but no change

Vestel tv, how to flip the image?
              by France_53
Hello everyone from Italy, I'm here to ask for help on a Vestel TV, I've had a Vestel TV branded "XD" with a broken screen for years, but now I've found a Telefunken (still Vestel but older) and I've mounted the panel on the "XD" TV, it works, but the screen is upside down, given that Vestel does not allow you to rotate the image from the service menu, does anyone know how to solve the problem? the original panel is marked ves315WNDS-2D-N12 while the main board 17mb110, the panel I mounted instead in the tv (from the telefunken) is a ves315WNDA-02. ... It is not worth repairing...

ITE IT8390 (IT8390E-256) programmer "ITE Download Board 4" user manual + firmware, flashing ITE ECs on the cheap
              by H34TO
Recently I've gotten into EC flashing due to my broken laptop(s) and started frantically searching methods for flashing the IT5571E-128 chip on the cheap(due to me beaing a student and not having a job) and noticed that ITE newer chips can be flashed via ISP (In-System Programming) either via SMBus or the KBC (EPP - Enhanced Parallel Port) interface. While these can be achieved with programmers like SVOD4/3 or the RT809H/F those options are WAYYY out of my budget so I was horrified. But recently I stumbled uppon some programmers on aliexpress that claim they can program a variety of ITE chips...

Dell G3 15 3500 - Battery bug (black screen and flashing keyboard backlight)
              by HTR-Informatique
              Hello,

YouTube video of the problem encountered: https://youtube.com/shorts/q7TLNv36LUo

I am a pro and I have a problem that I have never seen despite my 7.5 years of experience on my own and my thousands of repairs, on a customer's Dell G3 15 3500.

On this PC I have already changed the complete palmrest because the keyboard was no longer working properly.

I also changed the screen because the PC fell and the screen was broken.

I changed the battery with a new and original battery.

I also had corrosion/oxidation on the...
