    Sony Bravia KDL-46EX621 10 blinks

    Hello,

Recently picked up a Sony bravos KDL-46EX621 from Craigslist. It was bought in an unknown state, but a little troubleshooting resulted in a bad main board - no power and 4 blink error code with stand-by voltage correct and the power on signal being successfully sent to the main-board, but no boot up from there.

I replaced the main board and tried updating the TVs software. Let the software update run and now the set doesn't stay on. It will boot, flash the "Sony" logo, then cuts itself off and the standby light blinks 10 times. The only way to get it to do anything else is to unplug the set and plug it back in.

Any advice on this is greatly appreciated. Is it possible I purchased a bad replacement main board? Also, I can't find any information or service manuals on the KDL.

    Thanks!

Please upload good clear pictures of the whole backside of the TV so we can see how all the boards are connected together.

Re: Sony Bravia KDL-46EX621 10 blinks

So, have tried reseating all of the cables and hookups on the TV to ensure they were secured, but no change in the 10 blink error code. A little additional research found something mentioning that the 10 blinks is a microprocessor test, not used for errors. Am I maybe stuck in some sort of test loop?

Wanted to bump this up to hopefully get some advice. I have requested a replacement main-board from the seller so hopefully that will resolve the issue. Is there anything I should be testing prior to returning the main?

Re: Sony Bravia KDL-46EX621 10 blinks

Received a new main board today and was able to install. TV immediately started doing the same thing. 10 blinks and no way to proceed without unplugging the set. Have done a little more research and found out that 10 blinks has something to do with the watchdog timer. Is the set maybe frozen due to a dead microprocesser which isn't resulting in a board failure? Any additional information on a "watchdog timer fault or next steps for troubleshooting would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Here is p35 of the service manual. Review a few pages on how to collect the blink code and which area of failure it points to

Sony Bravia 55HX820 - 4 times blinking red standby led
                  by androripara
                  Hello everyone,
i am trying to repair a Sony KDL-55HX820 led TV which is throwing error code 4 (standby led flashing four times).

I followed the troubleshooting flowchart at page 69, and between pin1 and pin7 of CN6002 i am reading 1.91V so i guess i can rule out the B Board as the culprit.
Before ordering new G* Boards (by the way, should i change both? it is not specified in the manual) i wanted to try and do more advanced troubleshooting since i've read in other threads people resolving their problems on the 46/55 HX 820/823/825 models by replacing the Samsung led...

                  Sony xbr-65x900c main board issues?
                  by jb_Bak
Hey guys great forum glad to have found it. I bought a Sony XBR 65X900C cheaply because it didn't work. No signs of life at all not even a light/led. All I hear is a brief high voltage sound when I throw the power to it.

Didn't see any obvious signs of damage so right away started checking voltages. This is what I see:
Power Board Connector that goes to Main board
                  CN6401
                  Pin 01 NC
                  Pin 02 NC
                  Pin 03 "BL_ON": 0V
                  Pin 04 "N/C"
                  Pin 05 "STBY 3.3V": 3.5V
                  Pin 06 "GND": N/C
                  Pin 07 "AC_OFF"...

                  Sony KD-65XE8596 no standby light
                  by brithepi2k
                  Hi,

I’ve got a Sony KD-65XE8596 here that has no standby light coming on. I’ve tested the power board with the test meter, the TV needs 3.4 for the standby but only getting 2.4. Anything that I can change/check on the board to get it working? Pictures of the board are included.

                  cheers...

Sony Bravia KDL-40V2500 that will not power on
                  by PopsCaps
I have a Sony Bravia KDL-40V2500 that will not power on. The indicator flashes red 3 times.
I do not hear any sound and I cannot see any backlight.
I have tried disconnecting every cable on each board one at a time to see if anything changes.
The only change is when I disconnect AC-DET cable on the Power Supply board or on the other end if I unplug the CN7009 connection on the B-Board and try to power on the TV the indicator will stay on solid green until I power off.
My friend ordered another used power supply board but it is also doing the red indicator flash 3 times...

                  Sony XR-55X90J 5 blinks
                  by matwan
                  Hello,

                  I have problem with SONY 55X90J. After several check status is as below;
                  1. Running power board as stand alone:

                  TCON_12V =~ 12.6V
                  EVDD V On Max 24V= 19V.

                  2.
Running power board with TCON as stand alone:

                  Effect as below, attched.

                  3. When bottom LVDS cable is disconnected no blinks, but of course no TCON 12V and EVDD.
"I'm almost sure it's a defective panel, but maybe someone has encountered a similar issue on their screen.

                  Best regards....
