I have a 48" Hisense tv that was purchased from Walmart about 4 years ago. The other day when I turned it on I got sound, but no picture. We have replaced the tv, but I thought I would take a look inside to see if I could figure it out. After countless YouTube videos I have figured out that it's the inverter board. With the flashlight test I was able to see the words on the screen. I have several problems. I thought I would just replace the inverter board. I thought it was built into the power supply but after talking to someone at shopjimmys I was told it may be built into the screen. Does anyone have any experience with hisense. I tried fixya but the guy I talked to was stumped also. any suggestions would be appreciated!

Re: Hisense model 48h5 LCD LED TV sound but no picture
+10...It is a LCD/LED TV and so this means you do not have an Inverter Bd but will have a LED Driver Bd. It may or may not be part of the Power BD. Furthermore, your issue may very well be bad LED backlights. Do you have and know how to use a DMM?Comment

Re: Hisense model 48h5 LCD LED TV sound but no picture
An inverter board implies that you have fluorescent tubes to light up screen. Your tv has led's for your backlighting. The led's are a very common failing point. Not to expensive to repair but it is a delicate job to remove and replace panel.I assume no responsibility for any stupid suggestions I might post.Comment

by MgiffuneI have a 60 inch Samsung UN60EH6000F flatscreen TV. The screen went black a few months ago Sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. I replaced the TCon board with a used board purchased from Ebay. It worked fine for a 3-4 months, then the screen started ‘fading' back. Once again, sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. However, this time the picture looks fine for about 10-15 minutes, then fades back. If I power cycle the TV, the display reappears, for another 10-15 minutes, then fades black again. Repeatable ever time.
I ordered a supposedly ‘new' Tcon board this time, and... -
by IerwinHello everyone,
Ive got a UE60KU6079 on the workbench that is giving me some headaches trying to troubleshoot.
The previous owner stated that there had been white dots on the screen which from the description sounded like some lenses fell of the backlight LEDs.
He had opened the TV from the back, trying to get to the backlight, supposedly gave up, reassebled everything and gave the TV to me.
I expected the worst like ripped COF cables or a cracked panel but could not find anything like that yet.
Anyway I still fully expect that there has been something seriously damaged... -
by jchangHi all
I was just given a Samsung TV with the issue. I read various threads and videos and attempted the ribbon tape method to gain an image, but no luck.
Symptom:
No picture no sound.
When I plug in the power cord, Backlight LED turns on for a half second and then turns off. The red LED next to the power button located center bottom flashes 2 or 3 times. When the power button is pressed after, it does the same thing.
No sound at all.
What I tried:
1. I tried unplugging the left or right ribbon... -
by jake12021Hi all,
I have got a Hisense 65p7 tv. The red standby light is solid when plugged in. When turned on with remote the red standby light flashes 17 times and then stays off. The screen lights up the smallest amount and need to turn off with remote again to get back to a solid standby light. Ive already gone through replacing power board and main board and neither fixed the issue. The back lights under the back panel are lit up when tv is on and sound still works. Wondering if I should try to replace the t-con board? Or is there any tests for the leds? (I have a voltmeter)... - Loading...
