Hitachi 32hxc01 A turns on,backlit and sound no pic

Hi , trying to repair my son`s tv. It turns on (by plugging in) boots up and hitachi logo appears then nothing. Menu does not appear. It stays on, has sound but the remote does`nt respond, nor do the manual controls . Could this be a firmware problem? It has vestel 17ips19-5 psu and 17mb82-2 logic board.

Possible T-CON Bd failure. Do you have 12Vdc going to the T-CON Bd?

Do you have backlights? With flashlight do you see menu on screen?

I as thinking backlights as well but he said he has backlights. How did you confirm that the backlights are ON?

yes backlight leds are on, shows hitachi logo clearly on switch on ,then no picture. Screen just glows from the backlight. You can see the leds are lit.

Could be firmware. You get logo on screen, no response from input.Try freezing eeprom and see if it comes on.

Main failure try core update for MB82 otherwise replace MB82 with an exact match for this VES315 panel. Or you could sell it to me Im getting short of 32" atm lol all mine are selling

I have sourced an exact MB82 board so am gonna try that. Don`t think my son will be too cheery if I sell his tv, he has already nicked the LG from my room meanwhile for his gaming.
