    Help with sharp 70le650u

Hello all thanks so much in advance for any insight. This thing is getting the best of me. About a month ago tv won't power on. Order a new power board. No dice. Both boards function the same. I do some research into the tcon.

With my original tcon I take left cable off, left side of screen works and functions perfect. Take off right cable, nothing.

Order new tcon. Left cable off left side black, right side of screen white. Right cable off nothing.

2nd tcon. Left cable off, right screen has crazy colored lines. Right cable off, right screen white.

3rd tcon. Works identical to my original tcon.

I did a bit more research and replaced the lvds cable. No luck. At this point I don't know what to try. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks again!

Maybe a little more troubleshooting and a little less throwing boards at it and you might get somewhere. Need some pictures. Better description of problem and some voltages
I assume no responsibility for any stupid suggestions I might post.

actually, you probably just need to do more reading of threads associated with sharp 70 sets... :-) your likely problem appears to be a "bad panel" as in tab driver. Lots of people have had success saving the set as it is not "repairable" as the side with the bad tabs need to have them all removed... they can't be fixed. As suggested, do some additional reading and go carefully from there.

Thanks so much for the kind response. I will look into the known tab driver issue.

Agreed. Sounds like the classic side horizontal driver issue. Your 2nd and 3rd tcons you purchased were bunk.
Did I leave the soldering iron on?

                  Problem

This is an LG edge LED lit LCD Display. The LEDs are on the bottom edge of the display. There are 2 bars (left and right) Each bar has many LEDs and a 6 pin connector. Each pin drive several LEDs thus is the highest current flow / heat junction. The weak lead free solder gradually fails with thermal expansion/contraction cycling and increases resistance. PSU will compensate up to a point, then when the current is too high, PSU just shut down the backlight causing a dark display. I have even seen one which the connector just fell off as solder points became completely detached....

Sharp LC-52E77UN TCON activation WITHOUT motherboard. I2C reverse engineering help?
                  by moltensolderlabs
Hi everyone. [Sorry for the long, detailed post in advance].

I have a Sharp LC-52E77UN which randomly shuts down--could be within 15 minutes, could be 40 minutes, over 1 hour, it's unpredictable. From reading the service manual, I was able to get into service mode (where the K is displayed), and found the following error flag toggled: "04 Initial Communication Error 4 -- Error reason: To the communication setting reception," which, from contacting an eBay TV repair store, I was told is caused NOT by a bad TCON (which was my first guess), but rather the motherboard....

                  Hi all,

70" LED TV is Sharp LC-70LE650U.

Initial problem was horizontal lines and slow motion lurrs on the bottom left of the screen. So I removed both the left and right ribbon cables from the T-con board and tried to clean it with alcohol and when I put it back, this issue appeared. I tried carefully reinserting the ribbon bon cables but same thing. I checked the traces of the ribbon cables with magnifying glass and everything looks good. I cleaned the small jumper ribbon cable on the left side of the screen which cured the horizontal line and slow motion blurs...

                  Sharp LC-80LE844U Blinks 2 slow, 5 fast
                  by joblo37pam
It's been a while since I've checked in here or needed input on narrowing down what to replace on a TV repair, but I've got one on my bench now that has me wondering. The lack of part (board) availability means I may need to do some component-level diagnostics, and a second opinion is always good when it comes to that.

The issue - Sharp LC-80LE844U does not display. Power light comes on for a while, then you can hear a relay click off and the light blinks twice slow, then five times fast. Service manual points to 'Panel Power Supply Error' with this code, but isn't much more help...

Sharp Aquos LC-70C6400U Half Screen Dark
                  by scubacamper
I found another post on this site the other day which has been very helpful in troubleshooting this issue I am having with my tv. The left half of the screen is dark, and the other half is VERY slow to generate it's image - and it only generates part of its image at that.
Based on this yt video, I have narrowed it down to an issue (short?) on the left side of the display, somewhere in the system of ribbon cables.
when I remove the bezel and the rear cover, I can get the image to display correctly by manipulating the ribbon cables on the left side which connects the left lower display...
