Panasonic tc-p42u2 psu or main issue

I have a 42u2 with 10blinks replaced sc and ss. Buffers tested good. Removed cables still 10 blinks . Took voltage readings with TV plugged in and during power up.

    Connector P6 plugged in

    Pin 1 0v pin 2 0v pin3 0v pin4 0v pin 5 0v pin6 0v
    Pin7 15.73v pin8 15.73v pin9 15.73 pin10 0v pin11 0v

Connector p6 plugged power turned on same readings as above

    Connector p7 plugged in

    Pin1 4.96v pin2 0v pin3 0v pin4 0v pin5 0v pin6 3.27v
    Pin7 0v pin8 0v pin9 0v

Connector p7 plugged in turned on
Pin 5 changes from 0v to 3.27v pin6 changes from 3.27v to 0v all other pins no change.

SC ss vda connectors have no voltage present.

If it's main I would like to try repairing.

Have you tested the SC and SS boards input connectors for shorts to ground first .

Just going through some of my historical threads and I have had 10 blink from a damaged / shorted SD card slot and an A-board. Also known as kids or somone inserted an bject in there and bending the contacts.

Worth checking, may be slim chance but I was very surprised when I decided to check it out.

Is there a way to disconnect a board and force power supply on to rule out psu.

Yes there is away to 'self test' the PSU. Disconnect all connectors from the PSU bd. P2 P6, P7 and etc.
Connect two (2) 120Vac light bulbs in series. Then connect a 1k resistor across P7-pin1 labeled STBY5V and pin5 labeled F_STBY_ON.
Connect another 1k resistor across P7-pin1 labeled STBY5V and pin7 labeled PANEL_MAIN_ON. Take the light bulbs previously connected in series and connect that across P2-V-sus voltage. Connect 120vac to the PSU. If the PSU is good the 120Vac light bulbs should glow bright. If you get the lighted bulbs, measure Va on connector P35...BE CAREFUL as there is the risk of shock hazard present.

Power supply just clicks then clicks off again when jumper and with a board disconnected and bulbs hooked up no glow. I have 5v and 15v on psu so I guess problem is in vsus voltage circut

potentially but i'd get the manuals for each, compare the pinouts. Check the Vsus level for each but at least it's the same generation so could be close.

Missing Vsus would cause 7 blinks most likely and it's unlikely to come on until panel on command

I'm just wondering now if this is definitely A-board. I picked up a P54V20 and it was 10 blinks, something a little different about it. Found nothing shorted on the SC, and thought is this 10 blinks at plug-in. Swapped the P-board out and fired up.

What donors do you have, maybe another model P-board could do just for a test

Might be worth taking some readings around IC4700. Looks to be responsible for sensing sub voltages and triggering SOS. Awkwardly located on the back of the board unfortunately.

I happened several times, in the search for help from the web, to consult this very interesting forum.

I've been working on this awful project with a Panasonic FZ-55, basically I'm trying to intercept the eDP signal from the main board, and replace it with my own eDP signal connected from an lcd driver. The problem is, for some reason the 30 pin ribbon pinout is really unusual and not playing nice with my LCD controller. Long story short, I managed to fuck up my board and pull off some pads on the eDP out port, I'm hoping to find either another eDP out source somewhere else on the laptop, or figure out this goddamn pin layout so I can just replace the whole native display complex with my controller...

I have a Panasonic viera plasma Tx-P50G20B which has a faulty main board. The picture freezes after about 30s and appears to lose vertical hold before finally going black. The main board part number - TNPH0838 (1) A - is common to several Panasonic tvs across a number of ranges however there is a second part number (TXN/A1LTUB for the 50") which is unique to each model.
My question is, given that the TX-P50G20B 50" differs from the TX-P46G20B 46" only in the physical size of the screen, is it possible to use the main board from the TX-P46G20B in a 50"? The secondary...

I suppose the real question is whether the existing pinouts from ether a 17IPS71 psu are cross compatible with a 17IPS12 psu? If they are then the exchange of the main boards should have no issues providing the screen is compatible with both main boards. Obviously you can change the screen configurations easily enough (providing you have the correct files) for the main board. Why may you ask would I do this? Well a lot of the smart features are no longer working on a Hitachi 48HBT62U main board I wish to give it a new lease of life!
Obviously the same LVDS connector for the screen connection...
