Samsung PN60F5500AF no picture. Resistors smoking

I have a Samsung PN60F5500AF Plasma that has no picture. It has sound.
When it first came in, I put a meter on the buffer boards and had continuity from where it connects to the y main board and where it connects to the ribbon cables. I ordered new buffer boards and when I first unpacked them, I had the same reading. I contacted the seller and he assured me they were working. I thought I was testing them wrong. I installed the new boards and had the same result.
Next I ordered a new set of buffers from a different seller and tested them the same way and had continuity again. I figured I was doing something wrong and narrowed my problem down to the Y main board.
I ordered a new one and when I plugged it in, the resistors at the bottom of the Y main board ( R5084, R5097) started smoking. I replaced the resistors and they still smoked. I got another Y main and had the same result.
When I remove the lower buffer board and turn it on, there is no smoke.
Do I have bad buffers causing my problem?
I will try to post pics of the boards soon.

Anyone have any thoughts? I feel like I have a bad plasma panel, but looking for a second opinion.

Your y-sus is probably bad, thats also not proper way to check buffer boards. search the forum to get proper way to test samsung buffers, plenty of threads here. Also need to get voltages, and compare the results to label on back of panel.

Thanks for the reply. I searched quite a bit and can't find a thread showing a different way of checking a buffer. This is the way I have always done. I have replaced the Y main and then again thinking I had a bad y main. Both times, I had the same result: smoking resistors. Not sure what to think other than a bad panel.

The pictures are to small to see what is on the boards.
Willing to help but I'm no expert.
