Panasonic TH-42PZ8E Plasma 7 blinks problem.

    Hey folks,

I have an old 2008 Panasonic TH-42PZ8E Plasma that has the 7 blinks problem after a lightning strike nearby a few years ago. At the time of the strike it was in standby mode.
It has been send for repair before, but the problem came back after a week or so. Back then the mainboard has been replaced.
But here comes the weird part. After turning the tv on and off for a couple of times suddenly the tv stays on and everything is normal. I can watch for hours no problems at all. It is a very annoying problem so i bought another plasma tv for main use and this one moved to the man cave
Last week i saw someone on youtube fixing this problem and i thought hey why not trying to fix mine.
I have been searching for answers for this problem for a while now and i have never seen a case that someone has been able to get it working after turning it off and on a couple of times.
Shall i follow instructions on this technical manual i found (from another model)?

I already took the back panel of.

    Many thanks in advance,
    Mark

It was interesting to see that the capacitors were reported as being a common problem with the set. Would be worth checking.

Bunk replacement... Ebay? if so then chances of receiving a bunk parts is very very high.... It's most likely SC aka Ymain

Do you have a D board? if so check it. But most likely the fets are bad or at least one is on SC board. Once you pinpoint which one replace it and update firmware.

Yes they are ebay 2nd hand parts.

I think there is a D board behind the A board. could a bad D board also give the 7 blink error?

Wow, i somehow fixed it by removing and reinstalling the A board.
Maybe a loose contact or reset somehow??

7 blinks are gone! My Plasma is fixed 8)

                            Panasonic plasma TX-P42ST50 - 6 blinks
                            by jm1234
                            Hi,
anyone able to provide the service manual for old plasma Panasonic TX-P42ST50E?
It turns off almost immediately (0~5 seconds after pressing the on/off button) and starts flashing the red diode 6 times.
I disconnected the left-hand side board (SC?, both the ribbon cable and the power cable to it) and also another ribbon going to bottom left board. Then the led signal is 8 flashes. According to service guide to another Panasonic plasma it would mean the left-hand side board is faulty. But I'm not sure it 100% applies to my model.
I checked that board for any obvious faults...

Problem with LG Plasma 60PM6700 - Random power downs
                            by theone111
I have an LG Plasma TV 60PM6700 for the past ~12 years.

In the last ~3-4 months I have been having some issues.
                            1. Problem: It started with random picture disappearing (sound still worked).
Frequency: Happened about once a week.
Solution: Had to turn off TV wait a few seconds before turning it on again.
                            2. Problem: Then it got worse and the TV started to shut down and when turning on the no picture just sound.
Frequency: Happened about once a week.
Solution: Had to turn off TV wait about 10-20 seconds and turn it on again to solve.
                            3. Problem: TV shuts down

Panasonic Plasma TH-50PZ85U No screen No blinks on red power light
                            by Alicat
                            Hello,

Stopped by this site trying to fix my parents Panasonic Plasma TV.

                            Model number is TH-50PZ85U

Power comes on and the red power light stays on solid.

Did a few checks like hold the power button on for 60 seconds, hold the - Volume while holding the menu button, no luck, still@ blank grey screen as the screen lights up very vague.

I also hear a few clicks.

I also think my parents said there was a thunderstorm and the TV failed after that.

Section 6 in the service manual talks about power and no screen,...

panasonic TH-42PC77U plasma television half screen problem
                            by renech
                            hello,
I hope someone on this forum can assist me.
                            I have a panasonic TH-42PC77U plasma television.
the lower 1/2 of the screen has become flaky....in and out, then finally goes black and you can only see the top portion.
i have performed the reset to default settings quite a few times. Panasonic recommended..did not believe this would help...it didn't.
I have removed the back panel and looked around for something obvious...burn marks in a board, etc....nothing obvious...
I have read some posts that suggest the problem is related to the boards on the left...

Problem with PANASONIC CF53 laptop after changing BIOS settings
                            by AquaMan Ua
Hello. I am asking you for a hint on how to solve the problem with my touchbook Panasonic CF53-2 standart model. After setting up the BIOS, the laptop displays the wrong image until Windows loads. (More precisely, it displays, but distorted, instead of the Panasonic image immediately after turning it on, it displays what is in photo #1 in the attached file) Then the image appears when Windows starts loading and then there are no problems with the screen until the reboot. If you enter the BIOS, just a black screen. If you connect an external screen, the image on it is the same as on the built-in...
