samsung ue48h6400ak no pic but has sound.

I have just been given a Samsung ue48h6400ak with no picture or Back lights but does have sound,
When I disconnect the no1 ribbon to the tcon but leave 2 & 3 (see photo) the backlights come on,
I then reconnected no1 & disconnect no2 & back lights stay on & I get two blue LED's light on tcon, The exact same thing happens when i disconnect no3 & reconnect no2, The remote control is working fine as the standby light flickers when pushing buttons,
Now i do know that these display panels are notorious for being far from reliable but just thought I would post this in the hope that the symptoms i have may point to something else such as the tcon board itself perhaps?,,,,

    MANY THANKS

Has anyone got any thoughts on this or has the mere mention of yet another Samsung TV panel with issues got folks head butting their work bench in frustration? .

What happens to the the Tcon voltage as measured on the white ceramic fuse when all the connections are made and you lose the backlights.
Willing to help but I'm no expert.

Could be short on the panel tab driver probably ceramic cap.

If this has the T-con at the bottom of the screen (which I believe it does) I would bet $1.00 that someone cleaned the screen, cleaner ran down and the board attached to the lcd panel is damaged.

It's funny you should say that as I did notice that the screen shows smears from where the screen has been wiped with something rather wet, I will try & get a look at those boards (one for each ribbon) tomorrow if i can lift them out far enough & see if there is any obvious signs of liquid damage.

I've had this one with this TV. As Reecey suggested it turned out to be a shorted ceramic cap on the tab driver.

Post pictures of back and front of psu so we can see how backlihgts are supplied, if them are from a 12v, the same that uses the tcon, so probably a short on the tcon draw too much current for that supply, but is strange that fuse on board doesn't fuse, i have doubt that b.light never came off, if is the case, is unuseful to post pictures.. it's probably only a black screen and you have maybe a faulty tcon, you don't tell what you see on screen with only a flat 2 o 3 disconnected...

Samsung UN70NU6900F no picture and no sound
                          by jchang
                          Hi all

I was just given a Samsung TV with the issue. I read various threads and videos and attempted the ribbon tape method to gain an image, but no luck.

                          Symptom:
                          No picture no sound.
When I plug in the power cord, Backlight LED turns on for a half second and then turns off. The red LED next to the power button located center bottom flashes 2 or 3 times. When the power button is pressed after, it does the same thing.
                          No sound at all.

                          What I tried:
                          1. I tried unplugging the left or right ribbon...

Samsung UE60KU6079 backlight okay mainboard responsive, no picture, no sound
                          by Ierwin
                          Hello everyone,
Ive got a UE60KU6079 on the workbench that is giving me some headaches trying to troubleshoot.
The previous owner stated that there had been white dots on the screen which from the description sounded like some lenses fell of the backlight LEDs.
He had opened the TV from the back, trying to get to the backlight, supposedly gave up, reassebled everything and gave the TV to me.
I expected the worst like ripped COF cables or a cracked panel but could not find anything like that yet.
Anyway I still fully expect that there has been something seriously damaged...

what i went through dealing with my mobo with dead onboard sound!
                          by ChaosLegionnaire
so i took out one of my spare gigabyte ep35-ds3r mobos from storage for use to do some cpu, ram and video card testing of stuff i bought from ebay and got for free from momaka. he bought 50 e8400 cpus for cheap from ebay some years ago and i decided to help him relieve him of some of his supply since he had waaaay too many!! what did we say about hoarding too much stuff and depriving others of them?! *cough* socialism *cough* lol!

i had to blow some dust off the board and heatsinks with the datavac as i didnt clean it up before putting it in storage. after finishing...

Samsung un55cu7000d with backlight and sound No Video / Picture
                          by gl4709
I am working on a Samsung un55cu7000d which has backlights and audio. There is no picture. This model does NOT have a separate TCON board. Before I order a main board I would like to try and confirm that the issue is not in the display. The ribbon cable from the main board goes directly to the display and I can then disconnect the left from the right. When I disconnect the right side the display lights up on one side but has no video being displayed. Can you all give me some guidance on how to confirm the main board is the issue.
