    Toshiba LCD TV horizontal lines

I have a Toshiba 32C120U that has a normal LCD screen when turned on.
After a about a minute horizontal lines begin to appear on the screen which eventually covers the full screen with mainly horizontal lines with ghostly vertical lines.
I would appreciate knowing if someone has seen this problem before and can tell me a solution or if someone has any idea what is causing these lines to appear on my TV?

    Thank You

The problem is between Tcon and the panel connections, but the first is integrated so you cannot do near anything.. apart trying to preheat the tcon in many points and see when pops up the defect, if you have luck you can isolate the culprit.

Do you where I can get a diagram or schematic for the
Tcon and the panel connections on this TV?

There's only few schematics out there on net about some models of AUO panels, yours is a Samsung panel so nothing..

You may be able to apply the Cut-off Method......but your soldering skill has to be good as you may have to re-solder cut lines in the process.

Andrew, first of all i don't know to which method do you refer but, you have done success in that method? what do you use to regenerate lines, enameled wire? You can't solder on tabs, you fix them with conductive paint?

                  These TV's are disposable?
Any LCD TV's on the market in which you can replace the T-Con boards?
All LCD TV's have embedded T-Con to LCD panel ribbon cables?
Horizontal lines on a LCD TV can not be repaired except for the Cut-off Method?

                  Thank You

There at LCD TVs that have replaceable T-CON Bds on the market. Perhaps you have not seen any??..I have repaired LCD TVs using the 'cut-off' method that were previously diagnosed as bad Panel issues. With this method you are actually removing or cutting off the signals to a certain section of the panel...the picture will be visible but the quality would have diminished a bit but mostly undetectable....so technically it still is a bad panel issue but the TV would be saved from the dump and still be usable.

This technique isn't used only for the vertical flicker/double image issue?

Re: Toshiba LCD TV horizontal lines

it is unlikely that multiple horizontal lines on a set is a side driver issue and is more likely some other component such as a tcon or cabling. Look very carefully at the cabling first to ensure that it is properly connected ... if in doubt, clean the connections / connectors. IF the tcon is replaceable, then it is also a possible candidate. Since your problem appears to be "time sensitive", perhaps using a heat gun / hair dryer to direct heat towards a portion of the card / set / connector might yield a clue as to where the problem lies.

further disconnect one cable at the tcon, input a well known signal to the set, what happens? try a different cable. Go from there.

"IF the tcon is replaceable, "
                          No..

Re: Toshiba LCD TV horizontal lines

Since the T-CON is not replaceable and there are no external side drivers look at the T-CON/Driver Bd again and see if there is any possibility of a slightly couching component to the chassis or metal. You issue does seem heat related and therefore the TFT in the Panel could be overheating with time also indicating a Bad Panel.

what is "couching"? Anyway if you at tv cold, heat the glass ic's on the tabs before switching on, with hairdryer, you see if are them faulty , if yes, remeber, i saw on youtube, just in Canada it exists a lab. that changes those faulty tabs..

Sorry not 'couching' but it should be 'touching'......
TFT are inside as part of the glass a panel and cannot be seen or replaced as apart from the Driver IC on the FPCs

I don't understand, is not possible all tft's in a panel goes bad, what happen if only a tft goes bad? Do you mean that some connections inside the glass breaks with the heat? It's not possible is a multiplexer/driver/glass ic? Them are replaceable..
