HDMI Ports not working - is there a fix?

    Hello.

I have run into a couple TV's over recent time where the HDMI ports do not work but Coax does. Is there a reset to fix this problem or does this point to a defective main board? Just curious if there is a solution...

    Thanks in advance!

Could be anything would need diagnosing, so no point replying with anything in detail.

I have seen a LG TV with the HDMI connector tabs not soldered to the board so only the surface mount pins were holding the connector in place. The connections would eventually disconnect or the connector break off entirely.

Depends on the main board. Load some pictures up so we can see something.

If none of the HDMI ports work I would focus on the HDMI interface chip, easy to damage plugging PC's in and out (especially ungrounded desktops which will have mains/2 on protective earth caused by Y-caps in PSU)

I've had luck on changing the 144pin HDMI switchIC on my LG main board when I lost all my HDMI ports, while all the rca jacks worked. Same goes for Gaming consoles, as the PS3 and PS4

Samsung UN50MU6070FXZA - HDMI Ports Not Working
              by grimacelord
Hello. Samsung UN50MU6070FXZA here with both HDMI ports non-working. I have already verified multiple sources and multiple cables to ensure it isn't something simple like that as well as resets and software updates.

I took the mainboard out and gave it a look. Nothing looks bad or burned. All of the HDMI pins are nice, none are broken at their pads either.

Following the traces, it looks like both HDMI ports trace back to the main CPU which does seem to get hotter than I think it should despite it's (rather poor) heatsink.

              Since the HDMI controller appears...

HDMI ports not working - Panasonic model number TX-P50XT50B 50"
              by BadTelly
              Hi,

Suddenly all HDMI ports stopped working on a Panasonic 50" TV. This is model number TX-P50XT50B and has worked fine for years.

The TV turns on but no joy on either HDMI-1 or HDMI-2 and I've tested it using an input device and cable that works fine on another TV via HDMI.

Thank you in advance for any help/ advice.

              Kind regards,

              Bad Telly

CF-20 Toughbook (mk1) Trackpad/Touchpad and USB ports not working
              by MichelinMan
              Hey guys,

Just purchased a CF-20 (mk1) supposedly was all working. However, the seller had done a fresh install of windows 10 but did not install any driver. Seller was adamant the trackpad/touchpad was working.

The touchpad/trackpad does not work. No led lights near the trackpad. The keyboard works, the USB 2 port on the base does not work, The USB 3 ports will recognise a USB 3 flashdrive but did not recognise a USB mouse. The ethernet port on the keyboard section works.

The USB 3 port on the actual tablet section works with no issues.

Pioneer VSX-324 suddenly the HDMI stops working
              by buchman
              Hi all,

Recently, when I watch a movie, after a few minutes suddenly the red HDMI light on front of the receiver goes off and there is no picture and no sound but, the receiver itself stays on!
Then, when I turn it off for a few seconds and turn it back on, it keeps working for another few minutes and then the HDMI turns off once again.
Tried to do the factory reset and it didn't help.

What could be the problem? If it's one of the components inside then I can replace it if someone can pinpoint to the faulty component.

              Thanks in advance.
