LG Plasma 50PM9700 - same old double click & no start

    Hello everyone,

I'm new to the forum and trying to narrow down the faulty part(s). I've seen posts regarding the first problem piece, C802 and it does look buldged from the sides. Aside from that, capacitor C907 looks like it might be buldged too from the top, but needs y'all input on it.

I did a search for this specific model (50PM9700) but didn't get any hits on it. I believe the power board is a EAY62609701.

The Y board is not connected directly to the power board. It's connected directly to the x board.

I have a meter but I don't believe it's the right one to use. ANNNYYYY input is GREATLY appreciated!!

well... didn't get anyone's input/feedback on the capacitor at C907, but I ordered a repair kit from shopjimmy which included the one at C802.

Hopefully this is the only issue I have... but since the repair kit includes both fuses... I might replace those just for preventative maintenance.

      Wish me luck!

Replaced capacitor at C802 and it works perfectly!! missed this TV so much!

the process went fairly easy... but I did have a little issue with my soldering iron and its heat points on the tip. I had to move it around to find the hottest spot... HOWEVER, while doing that... I kinda burned a section of the board where it says "C802" on the backside of the board. I've attached a pic.

The TV still works... but was wondering if the damage I created will be an issue on the future.

Any feed back would be appreciated!

Thanks! It would because of this Forum I was able to fix it!

Think I'll have any issues with the section of the board strip I burned?

It shouldn't cause any problems since there are no copper tracks around it.

does anyone have a REALLY up close picture of the issue they are having where the Ribbon gets cut by the plastic piece along the edge?

So my TV has the "magic" pointer with the remote control, where the arrow pointer appears on the screen.. much like a computer mouse.

using it aint so bad... unless you have to Type in something into the URL or the Web browser on the TV... or if you are typing in a search for a movie title.

My question is, can you connect a Bluetooth wireless Keyboard to use, instead of clicking on eeevvvery single letter?

The side of the TV has USB IN ports.
