Element ELEFW503 Backlights work No picture

Turns on and backlights work, but can't get a picture. I went ahead and replaced the mainboard/power supply since they are both on the same board. TV does the same thing with the new board.

I believe there's a fault in the timing control but this TV doesn't have a separate t-con board. Anyone familiar with this model TV, or other models with same parts?

Had the set outside, got some daylight now. There's only one board that is interchangeable.

on the same pcb as the fuse if you disconect the white ribbon cables do you get anything on one half of the screen? im not sure if this test will work or not but maybe worth a try also do you know the back ground of the tv? it looks like the tab bonds are on the bottom of the lcd do any look burnt etc as some people use screen cleaner which runs down the lcd panel and damages the tab bonds etc.

I do not know anything about the TV. I tried disconnecting the ribbon cables but still nothing shows on the screen. The tab bonds do not even get warm, but I can try to get some close up pictures of those boards. Nothing looks burnt at all.

The arrows pointing to where I tested voltage in the included image. The voltage reads 11mv with TV on, and when I power off the TV it ramps up to 8v and climbs back down.

                    by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

                    Assuming...

                    • TV came with vertical bars and no image. Found faulty TVS on left buffer board. Also replaced T-Con (may have damaged the original while hot air removing components, board has slight warp) and have full image but few horizontal lines on the screen. Some of the lines appears to be 2 pixel tall while others are 1 pixel tall.
                    • Disconnecting left and right buffer board potentially reveals problems on both sides with different signals (unless this T-Con require jumper like Samsung FB_TRDY1&3) Fault

Looking for help with a Viewsonic VP230mb where the backlight comes on only momentarily
                    by lostone
Hello, I came here after finding some similar questions asked on other monitors and hope someone here can help me get an ancient Viewsonic VP230mp (23" 4:3 LCD) back to working condition.

First a little background, I have a background in computer and electrical engineering, and I'm smart enough to know I know nothing about LCD displays and how they work. For this topic I'm as green as they come.
When the display is turned on the viewsonic logo displays in the uppper left for 2 seconds then the screen goes black, the power LED is green (on) and when a computer is connected...

Samsung UE48H6410 replaced Mainboard but backlights doesnt go on
                    by max789
Hello, I have a problem with my Samsung UE48H6410SSXZG with the main board BN41-02156A and the power board BN44-00709A. Everything seemed like this, the TV could no longer be switched on, the standby LED always flashed 5x2 times. Backlight was off and no sound from TV. Also made the flashlight test and there was no picture.

                    I made the following tests:
                    1. Disconnected the main board from Power Board = backlight works.
                    2. Connected the main board and disconnected the T-Con = backlights does not work.

So I ordered a main board from Ebay also BN41-02156A but from...

                    Problem

This is an LG edge LED lit LCD Display. The LEDs are on the bottom edge of the display. There are 2 bars (left and right) Each bar has many LEDs and a 6 pin connector. Each pin drive several LEDs thus is the highest current flow / heat junction. The weak lead free solder gradually fails with thermal expansion/contraction cycling and increases resistance. PSU will compensate up to a point, then when the current is too high, PSU just shut down the backlight causing a dark display. I have even seen one which the connector just fell off as solder points became completely detached....
