Re: LG 50PK550 clicking - plasma newbie
the diode to test is next to the pink resistor, immediate left of the large capacitor.Only real way of checking ic301 is by replacement.Very cheap, however. The diode is most likely ok though, but still worth a go.Comment

Re: LG 50PK550 clicking - plasma newbie
Have a replacement IC301 on the way. I removed the diode and testing with Diode mode I get 210 with the neg to neg and pos to pos. When I reverse the pos/neg leads on the diode I get nothing. Does that mean the diode is open/bad and should be replaced??Last edited by jason424; 12-23-2016, 10:53 AM.Comment

Re: LG 50PK550 clicking - plasma newbie
The diode was fine, with those readings.Have a very close look at the connections to the new IC301,it's possible you have damaged one of the copper tracks leading away from it!Comment

Looks like a replacement EAX61392501/8 board is hard to come by.Comment

Re: LG 50PK550 clicking - plasma newbie
Replace the green cap on the power board will probably fix you issue
Have had 3 of these boards and this fixed all threeComment

Re: LG 50PK550 clicking - plasma newbie
I assume I damaged something there. I removed the solder and looked and resoldered but not really knowing much about printed boards I'm not sure what damage to look for. I'm sure I fumbled up something replacing that IC301.
Looks like a replacement EAX61392501/8 board is hard to come by.Willing to help but I'm no expert.Comment

Re: LG 50PK550 clicking - plasma newbie
dont rule out your new part/ic being a fake to if brought from ebay? but as above post a good clear picture we will see if we can spot anything one of the top of the board and one of the underside of the icComment

Re: LG 50PK550 clicking - plasma newbie
I did get it off of eBay http://www.ebay.com/itm/142110554024 . I do have 5 ordered from China, but this one was in the US so I grabbed this one later since it would be here sooner.Last edited by jason424; 12-28-2016, 09:12 AM.Comment

Re: LG 50PK550 clicking - plasma newbie
this ic does seem to be a common issue on these sets this video is from a member on this site

maybe try to find a data sheet for the ic and test the voltagesComment

Re: LG 50PK550 clicking - plasma newbie
yes post the link im sure one of us can advise on testing voltages etc seems odd you have nothing at all when pluging it in now have you double checked all the connectors/wires etc are back on the correct sockets etc as easy to miss one sometimesComment

I suspect the problem is still with one of the 3 ceramic resistors
I dont think the OP has tested these correctlyComment

Removing JUST the main CPU/Input PCB from circuit stops the clicking. No problems with any other boards/drivers. (Removing all other boards and only putting Main back in is all it takes to start clicking again)

by SiskoHi all!!
Ok just got a Onkyo SKW-593 sub woofer that has no power person told me that it smoked and that his GF let the volume full when she powered off the amp and when he came to turn it on the sub played but then suddenly smoke was coming out, didn't say from where. So opened it up and saw a resistor made of metal (pic) but can't see any writing on metal par so what ever was written on it was burnt. So I'm kinda stuck here with this. I did ask for a repair or schematics in the other group section and waiting for this but I hope someone here might lend me a hand to try and identify...4 Photos-

Symptoms:
The TV turned itself off, and I haven't been able to turn it back on. The standby voltage was unstable and lower than it should be.
A weak clicking sound was coming from the transformer.
Video with clicking sound:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lAduhjNtqCA
Progress:
After the transformer, I measured four Schottky diodes. DM862C and DM864C diodes readings were 003 in both directions. After detaching them from the circuit and measuring them, DM864C was the shorted one. These Schottky diodes are SB550.I... -
by novak2Hello there,
I recently bought a Panasonic th-42px60en plasma TV second hand. The problem is :
The TV takes time to turn on from cold (being unplugged from the night for example), it tries to turn on with the clicking sound, then shuts off, then retries and so on. The TV is still working, just it takes time to boot.
From what I've read it seems to be bad capacitors on the power board, but I just want to see if anyone had the same problem with this TV.
Thanks in advance. -
by slimmy182Hello, I bought this Mac from a friend, he said that it simply stop working. The MacBook looks very clean but does not power on, stuck on 5v 0.42A, and sometimes display 5V and 0A (then 0.071A and again 0A).
I opened it looking for some problem, it was not touched before for sure and the board is very clena, no spot of corrosion at all from what I can see. Voltage on multimeter of the board off the case it's the same, 5V 0.42A. But then I noticed this "clicking sound" come from the board ( I attached here the audio file).
Looking on google I found this:... - Loading...
