Contact Cello, they may send you the dump on a flash drive, apparently they are extremely helpful!

Well, firstly ,I would be almost absolutely certain it isn't a diode.

Well, I "thought" RL1001 was the RX/TX relay.Completely barking up the wrong tree......You were quite right capleaker..Found RL6451,and it is indeed faulty.Wonder why it's a reed type? I could only find a service supplement, rather than the full service manual,so followed, pretty much, what the guy was saying about his Yaesu...Big Mistake !.
I must have had a "off" day.

  • Re: Yaesu FT1000MP mk.5 receive issue.

In this radio, the RX/TXrelay is RL1001 on the RF board.Today i replaced the relay, and it's just the same.It seems to become less of a noticeable signal drop, the lower down you go in the bands,at 9Mhz it seems fine, and gets more noticeable from say,22-27.5 mhz.As the signals vary on keying/unkeying,I would not have thought low pass filter relays,as those aren't energised/de-energised on key up,I would have thought. I did see a post, after hours of trawling, and found a chap with the identical problem.
He thought that it worked fine for...

    Thanks for the replies,
Yes it does indeed use a RX/TX relay. I did carefully remove it's housing, and a little Servisol didn't improve things.A little waggle of the contacts made no difference at all,as that's what I was thinking too.It seems to be fine on other bands, just 27mhz seems to be the problem.Must go and check...All the other pin diodes are fine.It does make sense though,as when it goes deaf,it stays the same even upon power on/off.So will replace RL6451.
Back soon ! , And many thanks !

  • Yaesu FT1000MP mk.5 receive issue.

Hoping some knowledgeable persons may know the fix for this problem.
It's the 200W version. Originally, the receive was totally deaf, with a s/c rectifier type diode, along with a cooked pin diode.,a FAIRLY common problem it seems.
Now it receives fine, but the signal can drop after pushing and releasing the PTT switch, sometimes down to nothing at all.It will stay like that, until PTT is pressed again, and rx comes back to life.
There is the odd mention of this on google, but no answers.
There must be a cure, any help greatly appreciated!

    Oh,as for adjustments,there aren't any! ,I guess firmware controlled.All a bit rubbish,really.....

  • Re: Marantz 6002 CD player

    Thanks for the reply,
It's the spindle motor that's given the "push", it's as if there's not enough current to drive it properly,But only when there's nothing stored in the T.O.C.,Once that's been read,it will play fine straight from the "stop" position.I shall have a look at the calibrations,in the meanwhile. Thanks !

  • Marantz 6002 CD player

This player seems to have a well known issue of not reading the T.O.C,the interesting thing is,given a push, the spindle motor will spin up and read, and play the same disc all day with no problems. It has had a new laser/mech assembly,so it's not a laser/motor issue.

Seems when there's nothing stored in the T.O.C memory,it won't work.
Anyone found a fix for this? ,Have three players, all the same issue.
    Many thanks,And any help appreciated!

  • Re: President Madison CB radio repair

Apparently, back in it's day,it was regarded the best of the best, along with the Cobra 2000gtl, (same internals, nearly),It probably wouldn't compete well with today's offerings from Icom,Etc.It does seem to be incredibly stable, with a distinct lack of drift.
Many thanks once more, for the assistance!

    Hi Redwire,
Ch 19 in the UK is 27.78125.Here's some results: DCv at TP9 at it's lowest,3.38v on ch1,moving up approx .3v steps up to ch.40.Frequency over at TR20 emitter was in the order of 35 MHZ,varying. From there, moved over to the 7.800 xtal, but in that area a good few components had been bodged back on the wrong side of the board. These were removed, checked, and put where they should have been to start with.Once done,it seemed there was no action around the 7.800 xtal,However ,a wet finger test (on TX,always worth a try?) on TR32 produced...

  • Re: Cello P50ANSMT-4K won't boot to Android but ok on HDMI

The usual Means of upgrading firmware on Cello/Blaupunkt is to put the update on formatted fat32 memory stick (use the smallest size mem stick you can find, many sets will reject anything over 8gb,insert the stick, then switch the set on at the wall.If the front light starts flashing, this means the upgrade is being accepted.

  • Re: President Madison CB radio repair

It appears the relay is there to disable the speaker on tx,and to disable/enable the PA speaker socket. It's quite a bizzarre add-on !..Now,with the radio set to UK FM channel 19, (the breaking channel),we have 35.580Mhz at TP1,TP10 has has 2.23-2.30 mhz, that varies, however i'm sure i was seeing in the region of 6 Mhz there last night?..It receives stations fine.I did replace the SO42P mixer first,as seemed a likely suspect,as all its pins had turned black.Every last bit of conductive glue has been removed. Here's something curious-connected directly...

  • Re: President Madison CB radio repair

The blocking diode is present, yes,The other diode was added by persons unknown, which stopped the PA working. Will do some checks on TP10,and TP1,and see what we have there...

  • Re: President Madison CB radio repair

    Many thanks for the replies,
Last night I managed to repair the PA section,For some reason, someone had added a diode to the relay, which went to the middle pin of the PA switch.Redwire, yes it is a mess inside that will get tidied up,will add pics.I have replaced many caps already, particularly the 10v ones. The 8v switches as it should.Basically now working fine,Apart from the no TX.The voltages rise on the base pins of the driver/finals on TX,but seems there's no RF there, according to my rather naff counter!

    Thanks for the reply,
It's not the mic,the solonoid clicks as it should,it's certainly a board issue.

  • President Madison CB radio repair

    Hi there folks!
Looking for a bit of help here,I have the above radio, with a odd issue.
Firstly, there's no TX output, although the red tx light illuminates. The output stages seem fine,as when a damp finger is placed on l46 in tx mode,10 watts appears on a wattmeter, varying from 29-50mhz.Connected directly with a patch lead to another radio,a signal 9S is achieved, although just spurious noise. The PA doesn't work, either.when the PA is on,the speaker turns on,but still with the cb audio....There's very little mic audio, quiet and very distorted if you shout down it!, if you switch to...
