    Insignia NS-42L550A11 No turning on

    Hello.

I have this Insignia TV model number NS-42L550A11 that doesn't turn on. The front led looks red which means off, I press the power button and it doesn't change to blue (which indicates on).

I ordered a new main board from Tri State module but Im still having same problem. If I jumped the PS-ON with 5V pin the backlight turns on, which makes me believe the power board is good.

Any help is appreciated. Did I get a defective main board from this "reliable" tv parts provider?

    Thanks. Pictures attached

So what DCV do you have on those pins when TV is OFF and when the power switch is activated?

Measure the PS_ON pin voltage as you press the "ON" button to see if it varies.

          Thanks guys for replying.
As soon as I plug in the power cord I get these voltages:
          on/off: 0.13v
          DIM: 0.16
          12v: 12v
          12v: 12v
          GND: 0v
          GND: 0V
          GND: 0V
          24v: 24V
          24v: 24v
          PS-ON: 2.3V
          5v: 3V
          5V: 3V

LEd in front shows red color.
When I press power button, nothing changes. PS-ON remains exactly the same. It doesn't fluctuates.

Now when I check voltages on power button itself, I get 2.9v and it drops to 0.9v when I press button.

The main board is not sending these two signals: the BL-ON (ON/OFF), DIMMING.

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

                Hi There,

This TV was auto switching off after few seconds with some vertical lines on the screen, so got a new TCON board and replaced it.

After replacing the TCON board it was working fine and i set it up with everything, used for few hours, then had the bright idea to update the software on it. During the update process, TV switched off and now no audio or video. No relay switch sound.

                Sony xbr-65x900c main board issues?
                by jb_Bak
Hey guys great forum glad to have found it. I bought a Sony XBR 65X900C cheaply because it didn't work. No signs of life at all not even a light/led. All I hear is a brief high voltage sound when I throw the power to it.

Didn't see any obvious signs of damage so right away started checking voltages. This is what I see:
Power Board Connector that goes to Main board
                CN6401
                Pin 01 NC
                Pin 02 NC
                Pin 03 "BL_ON": 0V
                Pin 04 "N/C"
                Pin 05 "STBY 3.3V": 3.5V
                Pin 06 "GND": N/C
                Pin 07 "AC_OFF"...

Panasonic switching power supply daughter board has two 27uf @ 50 volt capacitors which I do not keep in stock
                by sam_sam_sam
I did not have any 27uf @ 50 volt capacitors but one nice thing is that it has enough room for two capacitors in parallel a 22uf and a 4.7uf @ 50 volts 22 plus 4.7 equals 26.7uf which so very close to 27uf I will show some pictures of it sometime tomorrow

This is one of the shit est boards I seen in a very long time and it was the daughter board the traces just lifting off the board I had to use the capacitor leads to repair the the traces and the main board is not any better because I had to repair several traces for the daughter board to the main board
