Lately Im getting loads of Samsung Lcds that have the same failure mode, jumping horizontal lines or distorted horizontal sections in the display. They all use gate in glass horizontal drivers as well so if they fail mares well scrap the panel. When they fail in Samsung displays it takes the whole panel down depending where the driver is. If its in the middle it takes the lower sections out as well as they are driven in series.
Lg is not much better either they have been failing with just missing rows on the horizontal axis of the Lcd display. Its obvious that its a major and deliberate design flaw, the drivers must be getting very hot then eventually just short but they dont even bother heat sinking them so looks like another heat related death.
Such a pain, Lcd displays are so unreliable nower days anything pre 2009 is alot more relible but the newer ones are just shit. Picture of on I got today luckily I had a spare panel for this set in another Vestel set so I just swapped it. In this set the driver failed right at the top and and has taken down the rest I tried drilling out the failed driver but it just made the whole panel white.
