Hi.
I have a fairly new Changhong 42" TV which just died recently. Inside the chassis there is another model number LC420EUN. The unit utilizes mainly LG components.
There is back light and standby light and after viewing some comments wherever I could find them I replaced the T-con board with no results.
I suspect the power supply board and viewing a recent post point towards confirming my suspicions. The model number and details on the power supply board are:
Megmeet MP116-CH rev. 1.1 with date 2011.03.11. The bar code is E120111125200051. I have looked on the web for possible suppliers and did find one in Turkey but the facility to negotiate is totally frustrated by the fact that there is no English version of their web pages.
My initial question is if there is a substitute board available that could be used to replace the culprit. If there is no other manufacturer with a substitute then could I use another model number of the Megmeet brand such as the MP116-A or MP116-T or any other with the same connections?
I can of course try and replace the capacitors on the suspect board but looking at the comments on this option I may be disappointed also.
The main board may of course be another place to look but I will replace that as and when it becomes necessary.
Thank you for the opportunity to ask.
Nico
