    So in terms of damage limitation then, start with the higher value and work backwards if the supply does not work lol

    I have some 580 ohm 2 watt and some 58 ohm 2 watt,

      Just scrape off the coating so you can take the resistance reading between the leg and the exposed element to see what you get.

        I did actually try that some time yesterday evening, generally the remains when adding the surviving metal film rings together was that it is closer to 580 ohms than 58 ohms. As back up I may have found a replacement compatible board.
