LG 60PV450 plasma burning/melting plastic on z-sustain, salvagable?

Hi, I have an LG 60PV450 plasma that had a perfect picture but started to smell like it was burning. Took back panel off and saw plastic was all melted on the Z-sustain part that connects to the ribbons cables. Well, now I have the ribbons cables disconnected from the board but as you can see in the pics, one is looking a little rough.

So I have two questions, first, can I even source one of these z-sustain boards anymore? If so, where? Everywhere I've looked just says discontinued. And secondly, is the ribbon cable still usable? I mean, before removing it from the board the TV worked fine - well, aside from burning up...Can the ribbon cable be cleaned up some?

2 images of the "bad" ribbon cable:

Image of one of the good looking ribbon cables for comparison

Thanks for any help anyone can provide!

to be honest, that looks dangerous. Looks like a fire waiting to happen and I'd think whatever protective finish was on that panel ribbons is long gone and will continue to corrode and arc.

I'd salvage any useable parts and bin it but even the Zsus like discolored by a lot of heat.

+1 these Lg 60" Plasmas are shit anyway riddled with faults.

All those contacts are shorted together and though it's probably not advisable the set would probably run with only one connector plugged to the panel.

Though I wonder what caused the fault in the first place.

Last year I had pulled the z sus board to re-solder a couple pins that are notorious for going bad. When I re-installed it I left off one of the gold screws that hold the board in place. After turning it on I noticed a burning plastic smell. I took the back off and noticed the missing screw, as well as some melting on the upper contact of the z sus. I put the missing screw in and re started the TV and everything worked fine, no burning smell or anything. Fast forward a year and the burning smell came back, even though TV was working fine. Probably has to do with the initial melting of the contact, just took a while to really go bad I guess.

              Hey....

Board as written in description was stuck at VGA LED. common Problem wit these type of bords.... tried all the "standard stuff" like resettin... reseatin.... found out the LED Controller MCU1 = IT8295FN-56A geting burning hot under the last PCI Slot.. now i desoldered it cause there were only 18 ohms at the caps arround.... another aorus x470 in working condition with similar part and nearly same layout had arround 280 ohms...

my question is: why doesnt the board start know without this chip.... worked myself through the boardview but i can´t understand...

Vaio DA0HK1MB6E0 MBX-247 Burning any EC
              by ignacio.ino27
              Hello to all.

I have this Sony Vaio QUANTA HK1 DA0HK1MB6E0 MBX-247 that is burning the NUVOTON EC when you connect it to power supply.

              1) The +3vpcu line is going to a direct short after connecting the motherboard to power supply.
              2) I discovered the EC NUVOTON was shorted. After removing it the short gone out on that line (+3vpcu) but... (If i quit the EC the 3.3v are pressent on +3vpcu because the shorted component was quited)
              3) There were no shorts after soldering the new EC NUVOTON. But after connecting the board to power supply the EC keeps burning...

LG 65UQ8000AUB no backlight burning smell
              by howardc64
Only 3 years old. Owner said backlight went out and burning smell. Didn't bother plugging in to check if had power LED. Just opened the TV rear and found shorted bridge rectifier diode on the backlight circuit on the PSU. SF26G (400V 2A super fast recovery rectifier link ) diode replace with SF26 (what I had on hand) Google AI said G = Green Components.

Burn looked pretty bad on the board but just was blackened carbon coating material. Scraped and cleaned off quite well and clean solder pad for the new diode.

              820-01700 burning battery flex cable
              by manubali
Hey everyone, i was hoping if someone have seen this issue before.

This unit came in with liquid damaged mainly on left side cd3217, nand circuit, T2 pmu and battery pcb, replacing above mentioned components and performing dfu revive fixed the issue, but its burning ground pins of battery flex cables (on battery pcb side).

Diode values of data lines are normal and i have tested this on multiple batteries, so this is not faulty battery.

i measured the voltage on those pins and it goes to around 1 volt and then it burns the cable...
